Hahaha...I only laugh because it hurts to cry.

Hate to say it but I am going to have to break out my "No Mas(sa)" t-shirt given the lack of performance.

Not me, I am liking my bet with Andreas that Vettel won't win the title but it's early days.

They haven't won anything yet...if you remember Toyota was fast the first few races in 2009 then faded...

    Stupid gamble.
    Grosjean in top 3.
Expect to see Kimi do well this year if Renault can keep its head of steam. Remember last year.

Mercedes will be sure to be protested and will loose the points if any.
They are the only one with the super top secret duct.
I don't see how this cannot be ruled a movable aerodynamic device as the exhaust flow was assumed as such last year.
    IMO pretty clear cut.

They are looking strong for sure. But am I right to assume that they will have the biggest delta between qualy and race pace because of their DRS advantage not being available during the race to the same extent?

I honestly dont see how a few of the best drivers in the world could keep dropping tires off the track in the brake zone and thus spinning into the gravel.
    This is car control 101.

Yep, not *everyone*, but almost everyone :)

It's human nature to believe that the way things are today will be the way they always are. Last year with Ferrari, every year Ferrari has a few bad races, people want the whole team sacked, and the season conceded.

Same with MS. He's proven he not only belongs in F1 but is still fast. I am salivating at the thought of his first podium this year, or (dare I think it...) his first win after coming back. Seeing MS on the top step would make my year!

As for Vettel, it was just the year before last, when he came together with Webber, that he was immature, not ready for prime time, had lots of learning to do, etc. Of course, he went on to have one of the most dominant seasons ever, and then he's a god, Schumacher-esque, ready to take his place amongst the best of all time, etc. All from one season in a hugely dominant car! This year, after he gets frustrated (which will be compounded because he largely believes his own hype), we'll see the same thing happen to him that happened to Hamilton, Schumacher, Alonso and others - they can't stand to lose, so they get more and more aggressive.

And like the aforementioned drivers, he will be labeled too hot headed, not a 'complete' driver, and all the other fair-weather BS we here around here depending on the day of the week and last races' results :)

I'm just happy to see McLaren and (especially) Mercedes on top. If the Benz is good over a race distance and looks to be the front runner.... this season is going to be utterly fantastic!

Don't put anything past the FIA. ;)

The cars are much less stable this season and the drivers are adapting their style to it.
They are also less forgiving. Witness Alonso's off. The car switched ends so quickly there was no way to recover.
No doubt the teams will correct this imbalance in time but as it is now skill (and luck) are being rewarded. IMO. A good thing.

The FiA will ban it only if one of two things happen. 1) Mercedes is way too quick with it, 2) the entire paddock complains about it, and as of now only 1 or 2 teams are whining about it, and Red Bull have zero room to whine about anything considering what they got away with.

Good points on Vettel there. I don't think Webber's issues with tires during the '11 season was publicized enough either. Webber is a great driver but was having real issues with those tires. Much better this year and the proof just showed itself today.

He put the front, and thus rear, tires into the grass in the braking area while standing on them.
    They all did it.
It didn't look like outward momentum pushed them off the track.
Fairly straight shot into the corner.

An easy corner as viewed from my couch. ;)

How is Lotus going to win a protest when they were faster without the "magic wing?" Same with Red Bull, they're only a tenth or two slower than MS and faster than Rosberg. If I was the FIA I'd tell 'em to get to the drawing board!
