There's one of these exact cartoons for every Exotic marque. It's been around for a while.

Just edit Maserati and replace it. Everything else is identical in the ones I've seen.

I cut one just the one above from a newspaper in the early 1990's I think?

I did not cut it out of the New Yorker. I couldn't even afford a new car at that;point in time. and it was very relevant to me because I owned at least one and perhaps two Maserati's at that time. I was just relating where I first saw it. Did you notice the question mark? I first observed in a newspaper in the SF Bay Area. I have subsequently seen various (different marques) versions of it floating around. All ton the internet.

So Joe, which Maserati did you own in 1977?

    I thought so.

Well, I drive a Maserati and

    1) I'm significantly better looking than that guy and

    2) The girl I'd be saying that to would be significantly better looking!

It was originally a New Yorker cartoon as stated in a previous answer. My sister sent it to me when she saw it first published as I was a Maserati owner and still am and I have enjoyed it ever since she sent it to me.

Well to be technical, in our youth the BOTTOM of the pants had various names which described the width of the opening. Peg legs, Flares, Bell Bottoms and Elephant Ears.

Where as today it is the TOP of the pants that has the various names to describe the width of the opening! Mom Jeans, Loose Fit and Muffin Top are the names used today.

You can purchase reprints of the cartoon from the New Yorker. I had it put on a coffee mug.
