Maybe you can explain to me why I should..?

After all a REAL BUYER would pick up the phone, dial our toll free 800 number from anywhere in the world and speak to me..as three such possible clients have in the last week or so..

I am in no rush to part with the car, when and if it goes, then it goes, till then it is living a very nice comfortable life with me.

I have never and I guess never will, understand the concept of not putting prices on cars posted on the web. When I am shopping for a car, I completely ignore any cars or car sites that don't have pricing. Period. I have bought my fair share of cars, so I have been a "serious" buyer (whatever that means) plenty of times, but I have never called for a price. If a price is posted, I've called, etc. but never without one. So at least for me, posting a price is much more likely to generate traffic, which is good assuming that's the dealer's intent. If you are trying to keep people from calling, then it's a bad thing. It's a bit like looking at a wine list w/o pricing on it and having to ask the waiter how much each wine costs. It's a silly game, that.

Anyway, I'm not a buyer, so good luck. It looks great in that color, it really does.

I actually agree with both of you. I don't need a price on a vintage Lamborghini, I should know already having the experience that I do. On the other hand, not putting a price instantly says to me overpriced. Would not be a bad idea to state "priced right" "Priced according to recent sales" "priced to market".
90% of all makes must have a price. Countach, maybe. But a "maybe" for the guy/gals that really have no idea of the huge price range.
If I was in Roy's shoes and we are talking about his S2, for example. If I did not list a price, in the ad I would definately talk about the Series Two relevant to the other variants, the Series Two values, and what a Series Two means to the Countach world. At that point it should be up to the buyer to DYH doooo yourrrrr homeworkkkkkk & PPI Pre Purchase Inspection.
When Roy post on "here", I don't think it's that important to put a price....I think we all should know. (But that doesn't mean the PM don't go flying between members ;)

A listed, or un-listed price, does not mean anything.

In the U.S., how do you define a price, for an 88 1/2 DD car ?

Nobody has any other sales, to gauge the market prices.

I find this car, much more interesting; when compared to the 'Miura blue' F.I. Countach, that just sold.

I agree with you here Alberto.
Seeing an ad without asking price makes no sense, to a buyer. And I have seen several Countaches overseas that dont' have a listed price.
Some sellers keep their asking price as a secret so you must contact them to obtain it. These cars have then again been on the market for ages.
And the main reason for that is the asking price is not according to market, simple.

This may help some understand my logic..

I am a licensed Dealer in the State of Wasington. When I buy a car I title it and run Dealer plates on it and do not have to pay our high 9.9% sales Tax. As a Dealer I am required to have any and all cars that are Dealer plated listed on my site for sale. I am not required to post a price. I can ONLY keep a car on a Dealer plate for a MAX of 36 months, then it is either sold, or I have to plate it and pay Sales tax on it. As I have done with my Periscopa, Lp670 , 6.0SE #12 and #19. Cars I have no intrest in selling, unless the correct price was offered.

So with this car, it makes sense for me to hold off the 36 months and not pay the sales tax. I intend to keep it and when the 36 months is up, it, as my other OWN cars will get a personalized plate and I will shell out close to $16K in sales tax, (which is based on the price I paid for the car).

In the mean time, if the correct porice/offer came along, it would leave and I would have not needed to spend $16K when not needed.

So, look at it this way, it is ALREADY $16K cheaper then it will be asked for in 33 months or so LOL AND how do you price a car like this, not a ton out there, hard to tell..I know what I want for it, now just have to see if someone wants to pay that for it..if yes great, if no thats fine as well.

I can tell you an offer HAS to start with a 2, BUT not a 3..hope that helps..
