Well! One thing is very clear,Janne is correct when she says that this is ebarrassing..............constant backhanded comments about car models and if they belong in the lineup.of course it does! Latte Set? chapel st,lygon st? who give a! personal attacks and accusations? you must be joking?. I love Ferrari,s and have been in Lygon ,Chapel,Eastern Creek,Phillip Island, overseas track etc etc etc. Have raced and enjoyed the slack drive or two........whats the difference?.Recently when I logged on again I was asked where I,d been? and aswered, doing better things than this, and guess what? I was right to take an extended brake, when crap like this goes on. I rang the organiser about joining the group coz I thought it would be terrific to take part, and, was told the numbers had been finalised and if I still had that blue 348 spider?,I was also told if there was a cancellation,he'd be happy to have it there. He is a very nice bloke and does a hell of a job as do all comittee members having worked with a few as a photographer.getover yourselves, life's to short.......

Some people can orgainise race meetings week after week and have none of this crud - others can't even set up a club run to no where except the finish line.
    It does not matter.

    From autosport.

Lotus and Red Bull Racing's complaints that the DRS-activated F-duct on the Mercedes rear wing is illegal have been rejected by the FIA, AUTOSPORT has learned.

The two outfits wanted clarification on the matter ahead of this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix, with both teams reckoning the duct that helps stall the Mercedes wings for a straight-line speed boost is a breach of the rules that prevents driver activated aerodynamic devices.

Discussions between the FIA and all the teams involved have taken place throughout Thursday in the Sepang paddock, but the governing body has not changed its stance on the matter.

The FIA informed the outfits that it remains convinced that the concept is legal because it is passive, and there is nothing in the rules that outlaws a device that is activated by movement of the DRS.

FIA race director Charlie Whiting, who is head of the F1 technical department, said in Australia last weekend: "It is completely passive. There are no moving parts in it; it doesn't interact with any suspension. No steering, nothing. Therefore I cannot see a rule that prohibits it."

The news means that Red Bull Racing and Lotus - the two teams most unhappy about the design – must now choose to either challenge the matter with an official protest in Malaysia this weekend, or go ahead and develop a similar system themselves.

Mercedes-Benz motorsport boss Norbert Haug confirmed that his team's car would be unchanged from how it was in the Australian Grand Prix.

"This car passed scrutineering and got the green light," he said in Malaysia.

......"The nature and character of Ferrari owners is changing as Ferrari's become cheaper and more common. We see more and more mass production of Ferrari's relatively speaking (360's 430 etc.) making them more affordable to more people and the FCA needs to change its culture to accommodate this"

.....Feel bad now I suggested our beloved 'reddesires' (and yes some other colours) are cheap and common...! I was too harsh here..... sorry guys !! :(

What if this were in a corporate situation? Should 'new' employees be invited to meet the Prime Minister (oops...wrong example - who would want to meet her!!)...OK...Prince William and Kate? If a CEO chose long serving employees is this really wrong? Sometimes decisions have to be made. Sometimes a lot of the people dont like them...but that is life.

..........but we aren't a corporation with CEO's etc although many members are ! We are a car club of enhusiast ! In your analogy above would the long serving 'Storeman' from this corporation be able to meet William or Kate, I doubt the CEO would even know his/her name (oh I'm sounding like a como again !). But yes indeed thats life.

Well guys its been fun and out of all this I have certainly made some enemies but also a few new freinds.

I feel I have done what I set out to do and was simply to ask the questions that I was myself asked by others on the day ! If I have put a spotlight on how such events are organised, if I have caused people to speak out and take notice a little then its a good thing for the club and worth the bruising. (although trashing my beloved 348 was a bit harsh :( )

I do sincerely aplogise to all/any who I may have offended in our rather spirited discussions. Aircon we share a common dream and your not such a bad bloke either (bit crusty though !!). To all the committee members I to do appreciate your efforts and look forward to the events that you organise such as Phillip Island, F1, winery tours etc.

Maybe I will have a go at the committee, if there is a genuine need I'll volunteer, although I may have to change my name to do it....lol !

I watched it in the gap between a friend's wedding ceremony and the reception. Luckily, that meant I was around to write the snarky twitter message Greg Rust mentioned.
