I guess I'll take my once in a lifetime fish this year instead of waiting 30. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHS4oJG1b3U[/ame]
Those Florida bass sure DON'T FIGHT!!!....you hooked up at 54 seconds, fish netted at 1.17....a grand total of a 23 seconds...I've had bait fight better/longer than that....Targeting spawners on their beds....YAWN!!!!.....Mark
that was 11 feet of water drop shoting with 10 pound test on spinning. we got lucky she didn't make a run, guide said sometimes they do that thinking at first they have perch fin sticking them so they come up easy. a minute before I had a 2 pounder that knew he was hooked, took drag and fought 5x harder than that big girl. LOL, I can tell from your post to my fish of lifetime thread and your long moderator history thread that you are one unhappy mean SOB. be nice, life is short.
we had it in aerated live well all the way to certified scales and then back to be released in same spot I caught. free to enjoy its life as a fish and be caught again. you take weight, length, girth, and several pictures for taxidermist to do a replica mount.
Neat. I've gone fishing off my parent's lawn before... so far my record is only a 6" brim. My dad hooked something much larger there once, but we didn't manage to identify it and it broke the line to make its escape. All the best, Andrew.
Grew up fishing both Salt & Freshwater since I was 5, I am presently 55. Uncle was a commercial salmon fisherman, I use to deckhand on his 40ft converted landing craft trawler at the age of 8. Have been fortunate to be able to fish the 4 corners of the globe. Most recent was a 15 day long range trip from Pt Loma, San Diego to Mexican waters to fish Clarion Island, Hurricane Banks, Cedros Island, Alijos Rocks. Landed on that trip, Y.F.T to 170lbs, Wahoo, Y.T., Tan Grouper, Dorado....as far as Rob's claim to my disposition of being "Mean" & "Anger"....I'm pragmatic & honest....I do give Rob credit for releashing the L.M.B., as I applaud "C&R"...I have included a video from a trip I took also to Clarion Island last year 12/11....I can be seen "Hooked Up" through-out the video, at 8.23-8.27 I am seen with a nice example of a Y.F.T....to show my respect for the Tuna, I drink it's blood & cover my face also in blood as can be seen in the video.....Mark [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHWsw46BjUI[/ame]
Nice job, Rob. Must have been a thrill. I caught an eight pounder in a Palm Beach County irrigation canal a few years back. Unfortunately, they don't get that big here in south western Pa.
will probably never match my "lifetime" fish, but I hit Falcon Lake Texas-Mexico border for two days. the fishing there is unreal, most consider the best bass fishing in United States. El Gato and some Mexican places better. My biggest was 9.19, but the pure numbers of 6-9 pounders was amazing.
