Hello everybody, I have decided to go ahead and buy a 2002 360 spider, F1 option. What is the best way to go about this, buy from a Ferrari dealer, or private owner? Is it worth the price difference when buying from a dealer? ? What are some things to look for? Any information will be highly appreciated. Thanks everybody,Ted.

When you find the car that you really like buy it, it doesn't matter if its a dealer or private. You might save some money from a private sale, but from experience every time I bought from a dealer they took care of things that were needed. Last 360F1 I bought they told me the clutch was going to need replacing soon and they said
"drive it and bring to bring it back when I felt it as time replacing it." After three months I turned around for a new clutch all free of charge!

In your case, I don't see a reason to limit yourself to dealers unless you have a trade, as I assume you couldn't get a warranty for a 10 yr old car anyway.

In general terms, I think you pay a 10-15% premium for an authorized dealer car. Some people would say thats OK for the extra peace of mind.

    But don't forget the 3rd category....the top-notch independent dealers.

I bought my 2002 Spider from an independent dealer. Searched around for reviews of the dealer before I bought and then had my PPI done by a Ferrari dealer.
I used Premier Sportscars , they were fantastic to deal with and gave me the best for my trade as well.

I bought from an independent dealer, CNC motorsports in Southern California. My experience was better than working with Ferrari dealers and much easier than what I would expect from a private owner.

Make sure you do have a thorough PPI regardless of where you are buying the car.
