ok my turn.............................ahem .... the dash??? wasnt the dash inside the car too )) Gary 8394
Dash it all, I missed that! There's probably a lot we're missing. LOL Damn there's a lot of interior in that car Gary. Know what I mean?
Espada dudes! after 4 long months took the LIRA PIT out for some spirited jousting this afternoon and with recently installed new clutch, new brakes , new syncros and a steering box that for the first time in recent history is actually completely attached to the car !!! I must report and Espada is a very respectable super car of the period ! what fun. What Toronto in mar you say?? How is that possible?? today's 60deg f. drive was brought to you in part from our friends at climatechange\werereallyf...ndoomed.ca. Thanks once again to Gary Bobileff for is endless supply of parts LOL Gary 8394 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Maybe you shouldn't start speed shifting from 1st to second even if you can? I think that's what got all of them. Must be a weak design. Elaborate on your steering box issues Gary?

Joe went on for days and even tried to seduce me with that pic equating gold Espadas equals the receipt of hot retro babes as my car was originally that hue but alas it was not to be . I went with Rosso barchetta instead . Maybe if and when i choose to repaint i will have stint with this color. I have seen little magazine ads of this picture on ebay so i will ask Mr Sackey here publicly if he has a good high rez of that pic that i may use to print and put up in the mancave. Joe? Gary 8394
3 of the 4 welds on steering box had let go actually and the Boys at RM restorations sent me all kinds of pics . they they welded in place a reinforcing gusset piece just prior to re welding back on frame to eliminate future problems. Gary Bobileff indicates this is common on Espadas . Good thing they looked so close i could have been in real trouble this summer otherwise. Gary 8394
I printed up a poster of that sketch for my barn wall, along with a similar Mangusta sketch by the same artist. I'll see if I can find the jpeg. Daryl
OK, thanks Gary. That's what Gus over on VLG was talking about a couple of years ago. I just wanted to make sure it was the same issue and not something new to get concerned about. Glad to hear it made things better for you. BTW, that's a serious looking garage with the double lifts and tall ceilings.
Thanks Bob. By the way they leveled my car as well . Didn't feel the need for springs at this point as the ride is good and overall the car sat at the correct height but was not level . Looked a bit like an Italian cruise ship if you will. So a shim above the left front spring raised that corner up and as expected lowered then the right rear to make a level car ! Gary 8394
Just a note that Aaron Robinson, Laust Pederson and Mike Trivich (The 3 Amigos from Concorso 2011) will be coming over to my shop this Saturday 12:00 noon time. We will be talking Lamborghini; The Good, the Bad and the not so Ugly times of Espada ownership. I have 3 Espadas (S1, 2 and 3) at the work shop that are being repaired, so anyone who is thinking of owning an Espada or wants to talk about their car is welcome. I would like to see many more Espadas this year at Concorso Italiano! NO Excuses allowed. Call me if you would like to come over. Hey Bob, I'm a bit too far away I'm afraid ... Might I suggest this as a soundtrack for your event? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFa1-kciCb4&feature=related[/ame] Have fun guys. Bob S.
Anyone need front grills or bumpers for an Espada, USA version, I have a set sitting in the warehouse.
Thanks Bob...Good One! At The Work Shop tomorrow... We will be installing the MSD triggered distributor in Mike's Espada, will start reassembling Aaron's rear suspension and also forming the right side under dash panel for a 400GT 2+2 using an English wheel and a bead roller. No sales pitch, No tattoos (in full display) and no profanity (hopefully)...Just fun with Tools and Grease. Sorry No Espada Girls this time (At the Beach) :-( Call first or go hungry. Hi all, I just wanted to report that we had a fun time today catching up from Monterey. We were chatting and listening to each other's car repair stories. I can't tell you how nice it is to get together with fun people who are devoted to vintage Lamborghinis. It gives us a good opportunity to ask each others advice as a collective, there seems to be enough knowledge between us to solve any problem. Since there are three types of Espadas at the shop, we all had a good opportunity to see the differences over the years. As far as work completed today, it was basically just a fun get together let's have some lunch and talk. Aarons Espada still needs a few parts before we can put it together. We are sure that next weekend we will be able to get this car back on all four. Laust is working on making his own air water intercooler for his Jalpa. We were able to cut up the material at the shop today. Mike was working on the S1 wiring for the MSD ignition. All and all it was a very very good day. My idea is to put together a small project that I can do in one day that will assist in keeping our (everyone's) cars on the road. Today reminded me of my high school days hanging out at the friends garage talking cars and keeping out of trouble. Looking forward to the next time we can get together with even more friends. Hi Gary, Yes and a lot of thinking too! Question for All; If you are not driving your Espada now...what is the reason? Will you have it on the road for Monterey? Would anyone like join in a caravan to Monterey this year starting from Buena Park,CA? Bob Huber Bob Huber
