Jas the driver was clearly being aggressive, but unless I'm mistaken I don't believe he threw the first punch. If you slow the video down @ 21 seconds he has his hands up, which is defending against the first punch thrown. Wrong. Back in 1997 I was in a similar incident at the then Pink Flamingo Bar at Sentosa. A group of Malay's out for some "fun" decided to cause problems during my wife birthday party. A verbal argument turned violent when one of them threw a punch at me which I instinctively ducked, whereby he clobbered my wife (who was standing behind me) giving her a black eye. Another took a jug of beer and hit the guy next to me over the head, causing a gash requiring 36 stitches whilst 2 others swung pool queues like baseball bats. Security & police were quickly on the scene & the scumbags disappeared into the night like rats, yet the police accused us of provoking the incident and threatened to arrest us, up until the bar owner and several other patrons backed up our story that not only did we not provoke the fight, but we didn't escalate it after the first punches were thrown. Point is .. had I reacted the same way as in the video I am confident that I would no longer be allowed to reside in Singapore .. & those guys really deserved a good beating!!
That MF was cursing and swearing at the F car non=stop before he was punched.If i were him i will be provoked too.Youths nowadays really have no respect for anything esp if they are in a group.Imagine if you are the driver and someone keep cursing and swearing at you on the street no-stop even when you have put yr palm up to gesture apology? Some punks have the impression that all conti or exotic car owners are good boys and gals so they will take advantage.I dun think the pedestrain will react the same if it was a Rice car with full stickers and high spoilers. I have experienced it myself. It's no longer exotic car owners = cowards that dare not retaliate when provoked. I would whacked too and i had.
Oh my! Sorry to hear what happened to your wife. Sometimes its better to walk away in situations like this. What I was trying to say in my initial post was, the driver did not need to come and provoke this youths who have nothing to lose.He was challenging them in hokkien You have a PM.
Don't get me wrong! I believe that the youths were just asking for it too. What I meant, is .. He should not have gone alone towards the guy! Nothing good would come out of it. Thus the statement. This guys have nothing to lose. End of the day Egos come to play!
I have been in situation like this too many yrs ago.I have a relative whom was killed as he was out numbered in Geylang years ago.It either you get outta it or you don't. I got outta mine but i had nothing to gain.

Bro,I agree, and sometimes I get myself in this situations too ! Imagine the kind of jokers I meet . With exotics , Atleast some of them are scared as they believe you guys are connected.. I look like a FT and get abused for no reasons sometimes with a ricer looking car. I am just glad that no one got killed as Orchard Towers is infamous for trouble.
OT always have many plain clothes policemen as there are lots of illicit activities.Anyway luckily the driver is not really injured badly as no weapons were used.You will notice there will not be dustbins, signs on metal stands,anything that will be used as weapons in that area.
Oh interesting,never noticed that. I try my best not to go there in the evenings. So you know the owner, it's good that he is not badly injured.

The law is strange here for self defence is pretty strange! They charge all parties. But if it's an assault, and the other party doesn't retaliate , the aggressor usually get off free. That's if the assaulted person has no serious injuries or no police presence when it happened. Usually, you have to a civil suit. Anyway, we have some lawyers here who can correct me and share the light
Wow, what an episode. If I were in that position I'd probably just drive off / not provoke it further. Might be because I've got decent self-control, or rather, I'm quite a wuss. But really, if I were driving a 430, I'll wallow in the joy that I've already gotten further in life than those scumbags will ever get. I'm quite fortunate that I've never really been in or even witnessed such activity. Can't control your alcohol, don't drink. Same thing with driving. @ Derek and Winkelhock - sorry to hear about that. Hope there weren't serious repercussions. EDIT: Max, how's your car feeling now? Any positive change?
