I can't imagine he's Scuderia bound .. but you never know I guess .... http://planetf1.com/driver/18227/7627185/Adam-Parr-leaves-Williams-F1 http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/98402 Williams have announced that chairman Adam Parr will leave the team at the end of this week. The news comes as a surprise as many expected that Parr, who stepped up to the position of chairman in 2010, was being groomed as Sir Frank Williams' replacement. Parr will be replaced by Nick Rose, a former chief financial officer of Diageo, who has been appointed non-executive chairman. "I asked Adam to join Williams at the end of 2006 to support me in the running of our team," said Williams. "Over five years, Adam's achievements have surpassed my expectations and I must thank him for his service. "Not least for the decisive role he played in the technical changes made last year which are beginning to show through in the team's improved competitiveness this season, and for leading this company to a successful IPO. "Adam leaves us on good terms to pursue a better balance in his life for which I wish him and his family well. He has left us in good shape and I have every confidence that the Board and senior management team at Williams will continue to drive the business forward into a promising future." Parr did not reveal where his future lay, taking the time to thank Williams. "I am very grateful to Frank for giving me the opportunity to work for Williams over the past five years - a period that has been both challenging and rewarding," he said. "Williams is a unique team with over 500 great-hearted and talented people and many superb partners in and out of Formula 1. Williams is now set up to move forward and I wish everyone at Grove well."
My thoughts exactly - Leaving "at the end of the week to pursue a better balance in his life". I suspect there's a lot more to this story than we've heard so far...... Cheers, Ian
+1 I just hope no "scandal" such as hands-in-the-cookie-jar or abuse of power or whatever surfaces.... OTOH, it would be kind of fun to follow Cheers, Ian
Tom Cary of the Telegraph suggested that Parr was forced out of Williams in a power play. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motorsport/formulaone/williams/9166667/Williams-chairman-Adam-Parr-annnounces-surprise-decision-to-leave-team-at-end-of-week.html Cary says that behind the scenes, Williams shareholder Toto Wolff may have been behind Parr's dismissal, with the encouragement of Bernie. It's known that Ecclestone did not like Parr, and not necessarily coincidence that Williams was one of the teams that has not reached terms with CVC on the post-2012 Concorde Agreement...
I still stand by my statement I would love to go to the school of BE, but I would just end up learning everything first hand, and be left with nothing.. but experience.
