I am not a "Broker" I am a buyer and re-seller of a product I STAND behind.... a borker has no VESTED intrest in a transfer of a product OTHER than faciltaing a safe transaction of funds and title for product... their loyalty of the transaction ends with "As is where is"..they are just the "Money" guy..and have no DUTY to make sure the product you purchased is what the "Seller" told them to say it was..they are just the Middle man..."They profit from the transaction"...NOT the customer guarntee or satisfaction of a well bought product.
Hello Roy, I wish we would have somebody like YOU here in Europe/Germany. You are direct, honest, transparent and always very friendly with your response. Even here in Europe, you are well known with a high reputation. Its not all about money! Its the Love & Passion. I have worked the same way like you when I was running my vintage guitar business (retired already). I bought every guitar for me and my fun. I was in love with what I bought. When I sold it to pay my rent, personal, tax a.s.o. it was always a big lost with tears in my eyes. Sometimes I bought it back years ago. My customers were long time friends We are driving one of the best and most expensive cars of the world. We want the very best service for our Lambos. I am ready to pay more for a perfect car with no trouble. Sure, you`ll always find somebody who is doing the repair/work for less (-50%). But its half of the fun when it gets broken every 500 miles and the next big repair is coming up. And whats wrong doing business and get payed for? Nobody is forced to buy your cars. Its an offer appreciate or not. Is it to big for you give up on it If you are a dreamer don`t waste the time of the seller Keep on your fantastic work, love & passion with Lamborghini. With much respect from Germany
Ok, couple of things. Thanks for the Jarama info, I guess my head needed refreshing. Now I remember the car. I forget alot because of the amount of car we all discuss. I am not a humper of Joe S. He is a friend and the first guys who approached me in 2003 when I got my car. A friend keeps in touch...as he does occasionally. I love Roy. I am not his biggest fan, some of you guys are. Sometimes I don't agree with how he goes about presenting a car on here. Slightly cocky. Sometimes I enjoy his late night rants But, he is one of the good guys. He does not have to deal in Lamborghini but does because we've watched he love for the marque grow over the years. And it was especially nice to see him start up with the older cars and watch his appreciation grow for them. I am an old Lambo lover. But make no mistake, I do support Roy. I can't even tell you how many PM I get about cars and have steered them to Roy. I heard nothing but good stuff about transactions, dealings and flexibility. TWO people I am pushing to buy Roy's S2. Telling them it is a reasonable price and Roy is very reasonable to deal with.
Something did happen to this car. It has come to light that it happened between Joe and Roy, with the owner, someone worked on it that should not have. I will not name the well known shop but I can tell you it was a little shocking and surprising and heartbreaking at the same time. AND, it not the first Countach to go wrong there. Hence, the reason why it was barely running off the trailer at George's. So, Joe, Roy...you guys did nothing wrong. It was a fine car. Got screwed up. Roy got a good deal because of that and rescued it and refreshed it even further. Now new owner can sleep well. Think it's time to move on from this and let Roy sell this in peace.
I thought reasonable because it is a Low Body in mostly original unrestored condition. Which, you guys will see, will be continue to rise in value. But I heard in needs a clutch and some other stuff.
I was only speaking to Roys commitment to the exotic community and customer satisfaction. I will just say(for now) that Roy is going way beyond where many have fallen short.
Pacifico's..?? FANTASTIC..that is what I use for my Beer back with my Patron's...so now I know I always have something in the house (and the shop) if Peter K ever somes by for a visit!
I do want to make one thing very clear, as there will always be people with thoughts and alliance that differ from others..thats the way of the world, thas what makes for competition and the strive for excellence in your choosen field. I have no dis-like or hate for anyone on this planet. I may have a total differnt view then others, may choose to totaly do things 360 degree's from the way they do it..but I still will always have respect for anyone that ventures out on their own in an attempt to care and feed their family. I have always been an out spoken person. I am not a person that will stay behind a closed door when someone yells for help, call 911 and wait for "someone" else to get involved. BUT, I am also someone that will ALWAYS call things as I SEE it. That does nt make me good or bad, it makes me very very opiniated. It each persons choice to agree or dis-agree with each and every person they deal with, let it be on a daily bases or a once in a lifetime deal. I will always strive to do what I THINK is right and best for my name. I will always do waht is in my power to right wrongs that IMO exsist. It is then up to each person to make up thier own mind. It is as simle as my mother used to say, yes she said a lot of thngs...LOL "You dont agree with me, fine, there is another Restaurant next door to eat at" With that said..I do think this thread is more or less ran its course..and IMO has done well.. Just like the Movie of "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" Roy Cats
I think Roy has been forthright to a point that was not needed on a public board. A potential buyer would appreciate this but the whole world need not be entitled to Cats Exotics expenses and reconditioning costs. Well done Roy. Just proof read for crying out loud! Joe offers great background history and knowledge which is appreciated even in its' clinical, vanilla tone. Well written and spell checked. I appreciate you both.
Roy you can have my wife but if you take one more Pacifico out of my Casita I'm kicking your ars..... you grew up in a restaurant? This settles a lot of my questions I gotta say I Agree, tho Roy and I have been on other sides of the table SEVERAL TIMES I like that he's an open book. Good Luck with sale Roy. If Lambos did anything for me I am sure this one is cool.
+1. I think as a rule the throwing of large repair amount on a car for sale a a dealer can bring genuine questions as it has done here. Especially when a car that was said a "keeper" one week, and got a "for sale" label the next. Looking at the facts without the context Roy put the sale may bring quite a few questions. However, I have to say the posting of the bill is backing this up. Yes it may not show an amount to 75K but sometimes talking from the top of ones head is never precise to the $$. I find it sad that both had a different on the sale/purchase of that car. Joe has unvaluable knowledge accumulated over time and Roy seems to bring cars back to life per Georges posts. I am convinced all here appreciate both even when having spirited discussions. Roy seems to always push the envelope so it does not always make for quite threads. At the end of the day I found this exercise helpful for all. I got my answer as George has done improved the top end of that engine. Since the pistons and rings got changed I also beleive the "bottom end" got done. I even saw some items my own car got done like the no link cams I believe. I would have to check. So it does seem that car got the full G.E treatment up to date. Roy, the prior black DD you had and sold the same top end job done right? That is why it was running a bit stronger than the typical DD.
The Blac DD ex Steve leferts car with Gold wheels and no wing..? Yes it did, alos by GE and it was a Screamer as well..I put1K miles on it prior to selling it..last I heard it sold out of a location in Clalifornia..not sure if it stayed Stateside or not....
I recall only once? All of your subsequent points are fair, and thank you. Just trying to balance things a bit. Also a fan of Pacifico! Very odd about the "in between" time on the blue DD. I will no longer hold a possible misrep against JS until I know more. A mountain of knowledge, he is, and I certainly appreciate that!
Roy: I apologize if I missed it, but I did not see where you named "a few of the supposed controllers of this market". The ones who as you say "need to be "B**H" slapped into reality..". I'm still waiting for their specific names, whilst noting that there are several of them (few = plural), because Id like to contact the geniuses and see how it is they are able to control a market, and learn something. After retiring from the Financial Services industry for over 22 years, if I learned one thing it is that markets set themselves. As regards the books, the person who sold the car to you can explain why you did not receive them. The car was sold to him without books, and when he contracted me to re-sell the car, I advised him that I had been in touch with the car's original owner in the previous year and secured books, historical documents & items. He seemed little interested in this, and I included it in my Ad because I knew I could provide them as a service to the new buyer - as I have done dozens of times before in the sale of cars where I have united a car with material that should be with it which was thought lost. If I make the sale, I make it happen, and that's what my clients often get for doing business with me. I didn't make the sale to you Roy. You cut me out. "Business decision" you say. No problem, I understand completely, it happens all the time in our business its almost normal. There are people reading this who can attest that I routinely provide a wealth of historical documents, books, literature, Italian license plates etc etc etc along with my sales, all gratis, simply out of the love of tracking these historical items down and sharing them with my clients. They get this as a 'thank-you' for doing business with me and as a token of appreciation for their loyalty to me. Do you think the historical EE.556.AK plates don't exist? Or the factory build-sheet showing special attention? Remember Countach LP400 1120056 and the material that went along with it? To a loyal & appreciative long-term customer, I might add. As regards the car having "no needs" as posted in my Ad, again, the person who sold the car to you can explain the disparity between what is in the Ad and how you found the car to be. Please note that as always the car would have been subject to a stringent PPI if I had sold the car. In that regard, I DO think that the broker has a responsibility to either adjust the price or even rescind the sale if the PPI showed that car is not what the seller claimed it to be. I seem to remember giving back $2,000 for a Countach windscreen that the seller didnt tell me was cracked. Came out in the PPI and I didnt hesitate to make it good. You would recall. In my entire career as a broker I have never had to take a single car back or rescind a sale. Can you say the same? I think you really need to chill where I'm concerned, because I simpy give as good as I receive. We started off with me helping you by sourcing you some great Miuras that made you a lot of money on. Personally, I think that its good to have a friend like me if you are into these cars because I seek to create value by my association. I'm not here to espouse my personal beliefs, lecture people on how often they should drive their cars, or annoy them by constantly proclaiming every car I have for sale is a keeper. I'm all about the CARS, that's it. Judging by the phone calls, PMs and e-mails I'm getting this past week, I'm proud of what I stand for and how I conduct myself and am thankful that what I bring to the table is appreciated by most. FWIW, if I have an interested party in this Countach (I actually have several established clients of mine looking for multiple Countach variants), I would be happy to help sell you car. Its all strictly business for me. But, so far the level of interest has been at the $195k and $200k mark and understand that's not something that would work. If interest develops to a level where I think you might be interested, I would not hesitate to pass it on. Who knows, I may even track down some historical material for the new owner just to make him feel even more satisfied with the sale. Best,
Thank you. And for my part, I will appreciate you not speculating, assuming or jumping to conclusions in the public domain about an involved matter you are not party to. Now, if you have any concerns or you need my help with anything, my phone number is 714 928 5626. Never changes, and I always answer. This way, you can get it straight from the horse's (bull's) mouth. Cool?
Sure. All of this is why I attempted to refrain from posting for as long as possible. I am certainly not the only "uninvolved party" guilty of making assumptions. At least the information was thought to be correct from reputable sources. As they say, "the plot thickens".
There is no plot to thicken or otherwise. I am aware of who has posted what & where. As Roy has already stated this morning, this discussion probably run its course and I'm sure he is sick of discussing/defending/justifying why he is into this car at the level he is. I'm sure lessons have been learned along the way, its a great car (Ive always said so), and if I can help extoll its virtues and find it a new home at a level that's acceptable to him, I will. That's all that matters.
WOW Joe..this has got to be the BIGGEST line of BS spun around, side step, make you dizzy answer I have ever come across...pure great english writing.. We can post the answer yu told me I asked you about your add and the books and you stated YOU had no knowledge of this, it was the seller's words and not yours...you where just passing the info on an you are just the "Broker" But it appears now, since you are ALL ABOUT the cars..you are strating you are holding "Hostage" all documentation, books and all other important stuff that you have previously told me in an e-mail DID NOT exsist..so not sure if it is an untruthful statement NOW or in the past..if in the past, then your "Hostage" holding documents that are ONLY for use with the associated car is IMO just down right wrong..EVEN when you were offered compensation to secure and locate these items...Guess its NOT ALL ABOUT THE CARS is it..? As far as "would" have been located on a PPI..maybe, but the fact that you stated NO NEEDS and other stuff is a fact..but I can see where your passed on description is from the seller, so I will give youa 50/50 on that one. Take a car back..of course I have at least one...but not the same..you HAVE NO money into these cars..as YOUR own words..reject it at PPI or decline the purchase..so of course you have no stake other then your "broker fee" so if it is not all there..walk away from it..not comparing apple to apple..HOWEVER yes there is with you as there has been with me some un-satisfied customers..I just happen to let them come forward..yours appear not to be here on the boards..real buyers, and are of private status, they have no time for this. Point is you havce value to some in what you do, I have value to some in what I do..and I am sorry it "Annoys" you that I say it is a keeper..easy fix, dont read my posts.. As far as your overwhelmed PM and e-mails in support of you..great..if you want I can have your wifi increased at your home to handel all your overwhelming love and support form the 99.6% of viewers of this board... I am who I am..you however my dear sir, need to step of your royal crown..the world will be fine tomorrow without me and as well with out you..it does not, the Lamborghini world revolve around EITHER of us..at least I know it does not around me.. As far as you helping to sell one of my cars..NO THANKS, I will sell it with my points..of course it is a shame that I will have to advise possible buyers that a past "Broker" has decided to hold important information and documentaion of a car as "Hostage" as he was never part of the Deal...OH BUT he is a true supporter of the Lamborghini cars and is heads above on the up and up with helping all involved..........WELL only if it his car Deal..I guess..?? FYI, I have had NUMEROUS owners of cars call me and ask info on a car I used to own, ALWAYS happy to help them and give them everything I can..if there is a cost involved in parts, FedEX package ETC ETC..there has never been an issue.. I guess I need to change my game to nana nana nana I got it and you dont.. Whatever makes you believe your right, go with it Joe..just one more example of your constant raving about your superiorty BS over of all of us "commoners"
Understood. I only offered to bring a sale because you have sent me an e-mail stating that you'd like to sell and the price you are comfortable selling! Just trying to find common ground that's all.
100% correct, I did a few weeks ago as I am sure you have customers I dont and a nice Peace offering to allow you the chance to make some compensation.. But with your "I have it and you cant have it" items that are ONLY of value to this car nothing else. That is such a BAD TASTE in my mouth, I wish nothing to do with this type of "Black-mail" transaction,, I could ONLY IMAGINE your "Jacking" my price to a possible buyer while informin him/her in your laughing voice that you have "extra" important items for the car that will ONLY be secured and passed on with YOUR involvment of a sale.. Well, why dont you take them to the next Flea market in Lo Jolla and ahwk them off there... Just plain sicking in my mind..makes me wonder WHAT orther piece of each car you have touched that you have "kept" under your wing for future "black-mailed" power over future sales and involvment! Deplorable and outrageus behavior..at least for a LOVER OF THESE CARS..but totaly acceptable for a "used car" salesman behavior.. Of coures my 2 cents.. I wish you the best in your, what appears to be future questinable dealings on the ENTIRE sale of a car..
