Can we get rid of this loser already? He blocked multiple people in Australia, is 0 for 2 against del la pink in qualifying pace (including 6/10ths slower than del la pink in Malaysia). He ruined Vettels race, and then after admitting he "jinked" towards Vettel, post race he called Seb a "crybaby"

Why does this guy even have Tata money anyways? If Tata wants an Indian driver then Chandok's their man.

But this isn't a Chandok thread, I don't really care who gets the seat, but Narin has to go.

100 percent agree. I rather see Neel Jani in the car.

But he was voted the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series most popular driver!

(Both he and Kimi are 'graduates' of that series, according to our good friend Mr. Varsha.)

Agreed. The guy has no place in F1, ignores blue flags, etc. I always cringe when the relevant drivers/teams go to pass the joker.

Matter of fact, HRT as a whole just sucks.

Guys like him provide a natural element of surprise.

    Adds to the entertainment factor.

Should be fan to watch him in Monaco if he is color blind to blue flags waved frenetically at him.

He was not that bad when he raced for Jordan. I am surprised at the fact that Pedro is far ahead of him in qualifying. I agree HRT and Marussia both suck, and if they were off the grid then even better. Good Riddance.

I disagree. Even these backmarker cars and team are cutting edge and could beat any other race cars.
Besides I prefer a full field and I do like the running chicane idea. F1 otherwise would be even more predictable and boring.

Whats the point of blaming the driver when the car itself is useless. HRT should have never been allowed to race.

I think in this case I would lean towards more blame for the driver than the car. After all, the team did qualify both cars within the 107% rule, and therefore was allowed to race.

Is the 107% rule the perfect measure of whether or not a car should be on the track? No, probably not. But unless someone is going to come up with some algorithm combining qualifying pace with average race times and driver performance... (And then be able to explain it to the on-air personalities who have to explain it to us peons...)

I remember HRT was lapping Monaco in 2010 slower than a GP2 car. That's pretty damn pathetic...

While I'm not an HRT fan by any means they have just as much right to be out there as anyone else as long as they're under the magic 107%.

They started from scratch and got onto the grid - Not an easy task at any time, let alone right now.

I suspect not many remember Sir Franks early days - He too was a "joke" and shouldn't be allowed to compete blah blah - Then he landed a big sponsor, Patrick penned a nice car and voila - Success followed.

I'd love to see 'em get a real sponsor then start moving forwards.

    Good luck to 'em IMO!

    Cheers,
    Ian

I agree with the 107% rule. If you're within that time, you're racing.

They must stop with these exceptions though. Just because they did one lap during practise which showed ''pace'' yet they completely suck during quali, it means they're not fit to race. Yes, if only 1 lap was done in quali and the car broke down/crash whatever, and the other car has proper pace, let them race.

I agree with putting Chandhok in the car at least. Karthikeyan's dad is so hooked up though it's inevitable to see him drive. Such a shame, Chandhok is a real talent.

It's probably more about selling tickets for the Indian GP than anything else.

+F2012 on all of the above, personally I don't think Karthikeyan is all that bad. On the other hand the HRT really sucks!

By the way Richard Branson is another hard on, cheap bastard that he is, he should learn something from Dieter on the way you spend and run a team like Red Bull.

I agree Tony. Few year ago, Red Bull was a laughing stock. Everyone was teasing them and saying that they were just a billboard going around the circuit. Look at them now.

    Huh?

RB a laughing stock? Where did you get that?

RB was always a midfield team before they made it to the top.
The RB-B team STR was a laughing stock until Vettel won Monza.
