Another productive day working in the garage on the last day of the year. Surprisingly, it got up to 60f today but cloudy in VA. My wife offered to take the car out, but I declined, wanted to start on my next winter list before I have to go back to work next week after the nice break. So yesterday, I replaced new speakers on the door. Today, I washed the car, checked and added all fluids, checked hoses, cleaned engine, inflated the tires, leather cleaned the upholstery, and restored the white emblems in the rear. Tomorrow, maybe I'll get to the rear window motors. Here are some pics for today!
My last posting for this year, looking forward to celebrating the new year! Happy 2012 everyone, cheers!

Wow. I have to do this too. Thanks for the write up. Mike don't ever sell your Mondial, before I do, your input is priceless!

So let me get this straight, your Ferrari and your riding tractor are the only ones allowed in the garage, the wife's car is outside? Hence the sign 'man cave'

lol, wife loves her Sienna van, which is best parked outside. My daily driver is my Jeep Sahara, sold the Miata and 997 over the summer. Saving up for a 360 spider!
Yep, trying to turn the garage into a man cave, slowly! Thanks for the compliments, can you believe it, a new year in 2 hours!
    Cheers!

    Hey Mike,

Nice work. Your engine bay is very clean.

    Hey Mike,
Really like the touch up on the emblems. Looks great. You may want to continue with that paint and fine brush and use it on the "Ferrari" lettering that still may partially be there on your airbox under the horsie sticker if your trying to go authentic.

    Hello Brandon,

That's a cool looking 83 cabrio you have there. I am in Gainesville, VA, not to far from Fairfax. Maybe I will see you around at a C&C event in Great Falls or Fair Lakes in the spring. Sounds like you found and fixed the cause of your over heating fan problem.

    All the best,
    Mike

Thanks, just wanted to add that I did not like the stencil results on the airbox, so I painted it over and stuck a chrome Horsey on it, looks more sophisticated !

Done my rear emblems too, but only cleaning so far.
Repainting may be necessary as some of the paint has flaked off or is discolored.

Maybe you have better luck with the results but I even tried spraying adhesive to the back of the stencil to get a tighter fitting before painting however, it still seeped through altering the letters. Just frustrating and I tried it 3 times before I gave up. btw, the letters are so small that unless you airbrush it on, its not going to have good results.

    all the best.

You can definitely brush paint the QV sign like how I demonstrated above, it will look so much better.

    All the best.

Actually, the quattrovalvole shows the state before cleaning, the MONDIAL is already cleaned :) But some paint will help you are right.
