    Hi fellahs.
I'm new to your forum group, from Auckland, New Zealand.
I was referred to this site as a best place for information and assistance on the older classics.
I have the 'Italian classics' disease (bad) and apart from keeping a few Alfas going (two as race cars), have a replica '53 A6GCS Barchetta to scare the pants off myself with and a '74 Indy awaiting work.

New project though is to build a Tipo 151 for road and race.

I've a 4.9 V8 (on carbs) out of a Quattroporte but I am going to need a bellhousing (manual or auto will do).
This to enclose a clutch (possibly a Tilton triple plate small diameter type) which will use a centre shaft thrust/release bearing and mount a bearing carrier on the bellhousing to support the prop shaft to the transaxle.

Does anyone here have, or know of anyone with a bellhousing that would bolt up to an early V8? I'd also be in the frame for a flywheel if one of those was in a box too.
An old drive plate (the motor was hooked up to an auto) would be a useful item to give to my engineer as a pattern if we need to cut a new flywheel.

Hope someone can help, or, failing all else, does anyone have a engineering drawing of a bellhousing they have made, that I could purchase a copy of to give to my engineers?

I can be contacted off thread at [email protected]
Look forward to talking more with you and sharing the trials and tribulations of 'the passion'.

    Best regards
    Tony O (Ollie)

No but I do know of a finished Tipo 151 replica (somewhat) that is for sale.

Be interested to see any pics of that and what the spec is, whether it is one of the rebodied Mexico cars made into a replica 151.

    Hi Tony,

Welcome to F-Chat. I was hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me would answer you. But here goes.

I will venture that your best bet would be to get the pieces you need from the same car the engine came from. Is it available? Is your engine from a QP3?

I have heard of guys cutting up the old automatic transmission case and modifying it to be a clutch bellhousing. I am aware of three QP3's being parted out in metro NYC USA. If you really can't get anything out in your end of the world, I'll look into it. But I imagine that the shipping will cost big.

Also, look at http://www.maseratinet.com/ for some ideas, but I don't think they have the parts you need.

    LOL. Sorry Bob.
Was in the US for a few weeks after buzzing around like a flea in a fit and only now got back to the site.
Not half as wild as I'd like to be buddy, but I suppose life is to be lived with those that can put up with you, and only put up with so much!
Take care. BTW, will have a 'Blue Sky Day' pic up on VLG shortly.
    3288 is alive and running.

    Cheers
