And the car that inspired Richard to order the Annivesario in Arancio, his LP400 1120106, pictured as a new car in 1975 when out for a test drive with a young Valentino Balboni.

Too bad about the interior color. I would have gone with a contrasting black.

I question for Joe Sackey or others that know:

here below there is the picture of my 5000 S engine, almost ready to install in the car: were the airbox cover aluminium color also in the 5000S? the 400 were aluminium (or white, i do not remember anymore) but the 5000S ones what colour should i have to paint them? I repainted black mine ones, but i do not know if i did the right choice.

    Thanks

    ciao

Don't worry you are correct as the 5000S air boxes are black.
The earlier LP400S are black with white covers.

    Hi,

If its ok, just to ever so briefly go off topic.

Enjoy the picture. Believed to have been a gift from King Hussein of Jordan to the Shah.

0232 is now in the collection of a thoughtful collector & accomplished race-driver. It joins a 288 GTO in the stable.

0232 was previously owned by controversial Essex Petroleum owner and Lotus F1 sponsor David Thieme who ordered the car directly from Ferruccio Lamborghini and got it delivered in January 1976. Thieme was partners with Colin Chapman in F1 in the late seventies.

ESSEX colors were red and dark blue. So is the LP400: Red with dark blue interior.

The car is fully original, never restored and in a mint condition with only 7,800km (circa 4,000 miles) from new.

Andrew, his intent was to match the livery of LP400 1120106, and to end up with both a first & last of the Countach series in matching livery.

    Here are the pair together.

Last I spoke to Richard he said he would never part with them, other than as a pair in each others company.

    Hi,

I am trying to avoid going off topic, however, if possible could you expand on this issue just a little more ? Is there any actual mention of this car in the book ?

    Regards

    Ramin

no mention of it specifically but the picture on the front cover is of a 365 in the same colour combination-can't be many BB's in that colour scheme.
