So my Verizon Motorola Droid 2 seems to have died on me... I am not due for an upgrade until mid August. So for now I re-activated my four year old Blackberry Storm. It pays to be a packrat for sure. Though I really hate the Blackberry...

However, it got me thinking that maybe I should buy a used phone to tide me over until my contract runs out. Kinda leaning towards an iPhone at this point as I am planning on getting the next version when it comes out.

So any ideas on the best place to find one? I checked eBay but the prices are all over the place and I'm a little concerned about getting a phone with a bad ESN.

Anything else I need to watch out for when looking for a new phone?

Local craigslist. I've bought and sold cells phones on craigslist many times. You can meet at a Verizon store to do ESN swap, or do it online at a Starbucks or something - then you will know the ESN is clean.
