I like the Viper better. The line of the Ferrari's front fender falling and then rising to the back is just hideous. Worse is the "smiley" front grill. When is Ferrari going to stop that? It's like they're playing a joke on those buying the cars. "Let's see how cartoonish we can make the front end and still have people buy one". George
Yes, you're right. The 355 an 550 are just hideous aren't they? When will they stop with these smiley face front ends? You must be mad to like these cars. Without question 2 of the ugliest cars Ferrari has ever made..... It's a good thing no one bought these things because of their cartoonish grill. Even though that F12 in silver, does the Ferrari no justice (the red car was so much better), it is still leaps and bounds above the Viper. That said, I like the Viper very much and would love to have one just for the fun of it.
+1 I like the Viper better. This video shows the lines and detail much better than the photos posted. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJuWSk_vAWQ[/ame]
and the race car looks amazing http://www.trendzcar.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/2013-Dodge-SRT-Viper-GTS-R-Front-600x431.jpg?9d7bd4 http://www.trendzcar.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/2013-Dodge-SRT-Viper-GTS-R-Rear-600x431.jpg?9d7bd4
I owned an 2008 Viper which I dearly loved. I do have to say this 2013 GTS new Viper is really good. The interior is the biggest step forward. I also like the old GTS look mixed with the new vents and body style. Another big plus is the stability control. Viper has never had that life saving device before. However, that is one of the fun parts about the Viper is riding on the edge of control or no control. One more thing about the viper, it can lay the best burn-out that I know of. But when compared to the F12, I have to go with the high reving engine. That was one of the reasons I did not like the Viper was becuase around 6k it was wound out. So my vote is the F12 but big advancement to the Viper. greyhair
That Viper could have been designed back in 1994. How exactly is it taking the original Viper-design forward?
I'm clearly biased, but remove the badges and it is still no contest ... the F12 just looks more solid, less boy-racer. Can't imagine the Viper's interior does it any favors either, but then again there will be a pretty fair price difference between the two, so that is to be expected. Looks alone, the F12 does it for me.
sorry ferrari, the f12 is a nicer overall package but not for 4X the price. the viper is a total homerun. lets see how it runs the ring with the optional trac pac. its going to be fun to watch.
I picked the viper. But both have some design issues to me. I love the silhouette of the F12. I like the front and rear, but I don't get or like the little vent thing on the front fender. Is it a flying fender buttress? As for the viper, I'm glad they didn't try to take it, but the front looks to busy, the grill and hood have too much going on. So I chose the viper because both cars could be better, I just expected more from Ferrari. And I like the F12 more than the 599. But I haven't seen either in person. As for the viper, I'd rather have a 1998-2001 gts than the new one.
Both better than I expected, but F12 is a much better design IMHO. The Viper is just a rehash of the same old thing, they went backwards w/the styling of it to satisfy actual Viper buyers who liked the original rounded GTS much better than the 2nd. generation car. The new Viper was done on a shoestring budget, for that it looks great, and their actual buyers will love it. But the F12 looks extraordinary, not just some rehash of the same old thing. There's a "surprise and delight" element with the F12 and every modern Ferrari that the new Viper just doesn't achieve. I expect Ferrari to push the styling envelope in ways that I would never expect to see on a Viper.
I got to say that I am bit shocked at the fact that there is even a compression going on!!!! You are comparing a Ferrari to a viper ???? having a Ferrari to me is not about how I can race the Cool boy at the stop lights and who's car is faster Ferrari is so much more and this goes across the board between a 50 years old car to a brand spanking new dream It's about heritage, class, art, craftsmanship etc Sorry but 2 different worlds Being under 40 I have had the privilege by working hard and having many amazing cars but non of them were a Ferrari! Once I got a Ferrari it was crystal clear to me what having an F car is all about D Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The wheels/tires on the Viper look too small, out of proportion, almost like a railroad car. My visual impression is of a massive body sitting on tiny wheels. Or maybe the wheel well openings are too small. Anyone else think so?
Only a few posts mentioned the price difference. It will be close to 4x if the viper is around 100k. That's an incredible difference. You could have a viper, scud, and a CS for the price of an F12. (using 100k, 170k, and 130k) I know what I'd choose.
