Collecting Invicta Watches

I was recently given a Invicta Ocean Reef Reserve watch. The quality of this is timepiece is absolutely first rate. Does anyone have any experience with this brand, and would it be worthwhile to add these to a collection?

Fun watches but they break, a lot. I've sent some watches to them for repair and several times they've just replaced the watch with another model. (seems they don't keep parts around for old models or just don't want to spend the time repairing them)

 

I also think they are cool watches, I love the look of some of them.

They are probably not on everyones collectable list, but they are cool and you should buy a few and enjoy them.

 

Agreed, they are not very collectible to many. But they do have a HUGE following. Every "Limited Edition" piece I got from them sold fast and for quite a bit more than I anticipated.

Service and parts are nearly non existent.

 

Thank's for the imput. I really like the look of this watch, and probably will get a few more. They seem like a good everyday knock around watch, and from what I see, are a good value.

Out of the Invicta line, this one always caught my attention.

IMO there is no thing as a modern collectible watch.
Unless you are looking pre 1900's.
We "collect" fashion statements that get old.

 

Some of the models (like the one above) are rather cool looking. My friend recently bought one and the dang thing simply fell off his wrist and the crystal broke. He said it looked like a defect in manufacturing. I dunno.

 

I like that one, very cool.

 

I would disagree with the above. The wrist watch wasn't really popular until the 1920's and pocket watches, while collectable, rarely compete on price to an equivalent wrist piece.

The hot sport are high brand watches from the 30's-mid 60's.

Patek's are collectible. Rolex Sports watches are collectible. I collect watches made in Glashutte, Germany.

I sometimes stop on the Invicta NBC shopping channel. Some of the men's chrono black & rose tone ones look pretty cool. Love the skeleton ones too. Very affordable.

 

I've always considered Invicta to be sort of a 'disposable' watch, but have never purchased any of their higher priced models. I bought a UBoat knock off to see if I'd like wearing a watch that big. Good thing, because I don't. I have 2 or 3 Invictas at this point, and don't wear any of them regularly.

 

the new Invicta watches are not my cup of coffee.

But its the revival of an old trademark - see mine from the fifties:

Invicta is my favouritie "daily" watch brand...many styles, very reliable, and built better than most department store watches of higher purchase price.

I have never had an issue with an Invicta watch.

Surely not a collectible and never to see an appreciation in value, but a great looking durable daily watch.

For the money paid for those watches, they are VERY VERY cool Beev!!!

 

I have two and simply love them. The quality is as good as any highline brand I own. I get tons of compliments on mine. Great watches hand down.
