Congrats paul, love the color and appearance, very.....spectacular but in good taste! I always said gold was the ebst color for K's as it allows the subtle design traits to show as much as silver but is warmer. Light blue is amazing too. Dash looks great too! I'd be careful with that: these contain waxes, which may evaporate in the sun and condensate on the screen. Dye is probably the better way to go. You still get to take the dash-top off
Battry in 433 is also in rear left hand compartment. Tools & jack will go in there as well, tight fit but you can juggle them around. I also store the spare wheel spacer in there as well. I didn't realise this was particular to our some cars. Bal
Okay I give how the heck can you get the oil tank out. I do not think you could even change out the wiper motor with the tank in place. It will not drop out the bottom and car body is in the way to remove. The pod body holder is welded in place so it can not move. I need to clean the thing out anyone know if I just pull the plug I can wash it out in place. Cheers Mark Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Mark Got me on that one, do the brake spheres mount on a removable cradle? as all this may need to come out. I will admit the RHD cars have an air intake in the way and the oil filler is repositioned on the tank. Graeme
Brake spheres mount is welded to inside fender. I could see if you had the engine out it would slide out. Cheers Mark
Hi Mark Its this situation as Marc S has commented to me, when the factory stopped doing development work. By the looks of it if the Hydralic cradle as bolted bolted in would solve you delema and I would not be surprised if that mod hasnt been done to other Khamsins. Lokks like to get the tank oy its a an engine out. and In some cases thats more than likely the only time it des come out. Regards Graeme
Going to look at it one more time tonight I just may have to clean the oil tank in place. Another problem is the Lhm brake fluid hydrolic tank is leaking can I buy a new one ? Any ideas would be great. Cheers
No idea about the LHM-tank, but can't imagine it to be a Maserati-exclusive item? Just crawled under the car with the idea to adjust the handbrake cable. Nope. Looked inside, do I really have to take out the driver's seat to get to the end of the cable for adjustment?
Quick question if I may: Does anyone have the exact pressure to which the accumulators need to be filled up to? (preferably in Bar) I want to take them for re-build early in the morning, so I can actually drive the car safely!
From an earlier post (page 43 of this thread) by Ivan Ruiz: I specify to have the brake accumulators charged to 65 atm (bars) when they are rebuilt. Not sure where exactly I found that information but I have been using it for many years. If I recall, the pressure setting is stamped on the bottom of the brake accumulators. Pascal
If the Hyd Tank is a Citroen unit I havnt been able to find them. Rumour has it they are specific to Maserati and the last one sold for 1,500USD If any one knows from which Citroen they come from Id love to know. Graeme
Gee, I'd be surprised if you could not have a new functional equivalent made up for half of that. Maybe better: if yours is not badly damaged, perhaps the leaks can be welded up for about $100 ?

Sm has round shape reservoir (LHM tank). Khamsin share reservoir with M-35 prototype, there is only some difference with return line tubings. Also Merak reservoir is almost same, expect Merak hasn't filling plug as Khamsin has... I'm pretty sure it is quite impossible to find new, try to fix old..?
One more accumulator question: The third, somewhat bigger accumulator is attached to the regulator, or am I wrong? This appears to be a sealed sphere. Can these be overhauled, or can I only replace? I'm going to have a nice job digging it out, but it is sort-of reachable with the other accumulators out, so I'd rather do the lot and be sure. Maybe I'm lucky with a RHD car, as on a LHD this one is probably sitting behind the engine oil tank... I can only see 2 pipes going to it: is the whole unit attached any other way to the car than by it's mounting bolts? Thanks for input! Jack.
Hi Jack, I had all three rebuilt, and yes it does unscrew from the main regulator body. Though I had had the regulator portion overhauled at the same time as it is a tight squeeze in there. I think from memory it is fixed via the bolts you mention, but maybe someone else can confirm. Bal
Thanks Pascal for digging up those pressures, on page 43! Thanks Bal, I'll take it out regulator and all and have the whole unit done. The regulator was clicking away, amazingly brakes, clutch and steering were still functioning. Even the headlight pods! System must have been absolutely on the edge.
Mark, If all else fails, go to a competent radiator-shop: I've had a few header-tanks re-made out of brass, and the LHM-tank isn't formed that complicated (although quite elaborate) You could have it plated for the right appearance. I can't believe that somthing common to so many cars is made different for a car produced in such low numbers..
Yeah, my system had started to click every time I touched one of te functions. it had got worse over the few years I've had the car. things will still work, but there's no backup as you have with fully working spheres. I just got fed up and took the advice of folk and had most of the main components rebuilt. Only things not touched were the steering rack and the regulator on the rear axle. I found that as I fixed one item the ext one would spring a leak, it was becoming a never ending story. Best of luck Bal
The Lhm tank I think is now fixed it just had a very small pin hole in the bottom. Anyone useing these tires on there car Pirelli P4000 225/65zr15. The push is on to go for a drive Cheers Mark
