I'm in the market for a 612 and ran across this one. I'd appreciate your thoughts. http://maseratiofseattle.com/Inventory/details.aspx?ID=117&stock=12148A&year=2008&make=Ferrari&model=612+Scaglietti+OTO
I can't really tell you much about it, but it looks great and I also like the fact that it has "high" mileage!
Or there is this one, it is a different price point, but very nice. Any value in the limited edition? http://www.fckerbeck.com/detail-2007-ferrari-612-scaglietti_sessanta-used-8597562.html
wow..that is great looking and the price is in range... Get a check on the major and clutch wear....just amazing looking.
It looks like it's been with the same owner since new, but I don't think the current owner is the same guy who ordered the car; Ferrari of Seattle had it for sale in May, 2009 - a year after it was built. So I wonder if the guy who ordered the car decided he didn't want it once it got there, and then it sat in the showroom for nine months...?
I think it belonged to a member here. If it's the car I'm thinking of, he also owned a previous 612 (also from new) which he put a lot of miles on. Perhaps he will chime in.
That's about right, NNO. We saw it sitting there in the showroom in July 2009 and just couldn't resist. We took it home, then to Elkhart Lake three days later, off to Bonneville, then to Monterey, and well, all over. It didn't get as much use as we usually like to give our cars as we got sidetracked for a year with "other stuff", but we enjoyed the heck out of that car in the almost three years we drove it. Would still be loving it if we hadn't gotten tempted by an FF just begging to be let free. The car is in awesome condition. Clutch wear was way low: I believe like 15% or something at the 30K service we did this past fall. Runs strong, sounds awesome, and is a totally awesome car. I really miss it in spite of loving the FF. I can't imagine the car will be available for long. The next owner gets a really wonderful car at an insanely good price.
Shannon, both great cars. The 2008 OTO is a tremendous value, even with the slightly higher mileage which would not bother me at all. The Sessanta could probably be purchased for considerably less than the asking price, and the interior leather- and stitchwork is absolutely gorgeous. I recently purchased a '09 OTO with 1,900 miles for $196,500. Although the Sessanta is a limited edition, most of its special features are common on the later OTO's, which is why I believe you have wiggle room on the price if you like it. Good luck with the hunt.
Perfect. Eric is the owner's name that I have in my database, but I didn't want to post it. So what's the story with your FF? Have you ordered it yet? How have you specced it? Is there already a thread about it?
I have specced a car, but with options not yet available, so we're waiting for a while till Ferrari gets the wrinkles out of some last features. Meanwhile, we relieved Ferrari of Seattle of their demonstrator model FF. Its Grigio FF, Cuioio Toscano interior, with all the bells and whistles. Incredible car. No separate thread about it yet: have only had it a few days and only a couple hundred miles on it so far. It's in the shop now getting its radar detector installed. Last week it got the window tint and paint protection done so we can take it out for a couple weeks. We're leaving in two days for a couple week trip to SF & LA. We plan to attend the Irvine Cars and Coffee on April 21. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The FF looks great, Eric! I had the opportunity to spend some time in Tonkin's FF demonstrator, and it is an amazing car, for sure.
I agree, and as I used to tell people about the 612, for what they charge for it, it certainly should be!
Sweet! That looks awesome! Can you tell me the serial number? I'll make a note for April 21st - hopefully I can make it.
Somehow I knew that question was coming. Don't have the s/nwith me right now, but will send it when I get the car back tonight.
Eric -- congrats on the FF. The picture is amazing. I just put my name to a June allocation that would deliver sometime in Sept./Oct. What options were you talking about that are not yet available? I have yet to configure the car, but that step should come next week, and having read your post, I'm wondering if there is something that I'm not thinking about. I have yet to drive the FF -- I just know from driving my 612 that the experience must be incredible. I know that when driving my 612 I feel a slight bit depressed as I drive the final stretch to my house and know I'll have to put the car away. I'm usually driving around with a dumb grin on my face, and I've heard the FF takes that driving thrill to a new level.
The panoramic roof is purported to be available to order later this year. After having it in our OTO, we really miss it in the FF. I'll post more about our FF experience so far in another thread and stop hijacking this one.
