I'm negotiating to buy my Mondial t back from the guy who bought it from me a year ago. Since buying it he's fitted a Larini Exhaust, which cost about £1500. I'm not one for modifying, but it does sound nice. Will it have affected the fuelling, or will the original settings be satisfactory? Also is there an improvement in performance with these systems, or is it mainly about the better sound it makes? I think my Mondial t was a "pre-cat" version, and it was running the Motronic 2.5 ignition (rather than the later Motronic 2.7) if that makes any difference.
Maybe a negligible change. While those exhausts sound awesome, my stock one is loud enough. After an hour i have a headache!
I'm with Dave on this, my oem 3.2 exhaust is loud enough and especially on longer drives, it gets to you. But I do have to say having listened to a friend's Mondial t oem exhaust, its more of a purr than a roar and my 3.2 sounded so much better side by side. I think the sound of the Larini is pretty sweet on the Mondial t and only adds to its value! Lightning, I think your mistake is selling it in the first place, but I understand, it happens from time to time as we think we can use the money for other purposes that just don't pan out as planned. check it out here, all the best: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY3ADWiGIEE[/ame]
I don't think I could go for the stock exhaust, at least not after driving with the one I've currently got on my car. It's nice and throaty, with less of the fatiguing mid-range drone I normally associate with these cars. This one's a short video but some day I'll get ahold of a decent HD camera and some good sound equipment and do it right. I'm actually a little nervous for not adhering to the 'if it's not broken don't fix it' advice, I had Bradan outfit my T with a new Nouvalari exhaust while it's being serviced, my OEM exhaust was just fine and vey comfortable during a 2400 mile trip, I hope I haven't done something I'll regret, although, I guess I can have it reversed later if it gives me a headache.
You'll enjoy it I'm sure. Besides we can get together and rip down Sheridan and through the ravines disturbing the relative suburban peace.
I can't wait to see your wheels in person, it will help me make a final decision to stay or to stray, from OEM.
Ted, I believe Russ got those wheels from a Ferrari dealer while in Europe - they're considered "factory" over there, but they were never officially offered by dealers here. With other than the Speedline Mistral, you would indeed be straying. Cheers, Hank
