Well since it was bdelp who implied it you have nothing to apologize for, nor does he, as we are just tossing around opinions, friendly debate. I think it was '84 when I started a jounal listing quali times, fastest laps etc etc but I overcame that. My point being is that I realized I have "NO CONTROL" over anything in F1 so with that outlook I could just focus on the racing and leave everything else too someone else.

Its great for some and I learn alot but I also only look for results and try to be as optimistic as possible.

ps, I had a friend last week tell me I should get into "philosophy" after giving him my outlook on a subject. In all reality I just attempt to find a "reasonable and agreeable path ie outcome". I hope I'm succeeding here in this topic.

I think Austin Commercial is in a contract with plenty of Liquidated Damages in it.....that tends to motivate the final finishing trades....LOL!

Pretty big assumption you are making that COTA is executing it's portion of the contract...

Perhaps she is more of an expert than COTA is on "F1 Party Planning"... ;) :D

    http://www.kvue.com/news/Elroy-residents-want-to-know-about-plans-for-getting-in-and-out-of-neighborhood-on-F1-race-day-146925415.html

Too early??? COTA seems to be run by a group of nitwits. I suppose they don't think getting fans in/out of the event is a big issue...

Get this... 15,000 parking spaces at COTA. 15,000.

85,000 or more people will have to be shuttled by bus. Has anyone ever heard of a set up like that?

COTA transportation plan: "we don't have one but we hope to come up with one in the next month". what the hell is going on?

    http://www.weareaustin.com/news/top-stories/stories/vid_1199.shtml

Also just announced is a plan to build a parking lot in Kyle, about 20 minutes sw of the track to shuttle in people coming from south. They have no money for roads, but they want to build a parking lot in another city to run shuttles? Do yall think this can work?

alms had a race at rfk stadium in dc a while back. we parked at the capital center and rode the free shuttle to the track. no problem getting back as the shuttles ran frequently all day long.

Daytona does the same thing with remote parking lots and shuttles to the track for both the 500 and the 24 Hour and it works great!

Maybe that is why they're not worried about the transportation plan. They're probably talking to the county north of Austin about doing the same thing. 18,000 parking places aint much. And they'll go at a premium!

I don't know if this has already been posted, but it looks like CotA put a lot more info about tickets on their site. Most of the pricing was already known through the PSL sales, but there are some new (I think) diagrams showing 4 grandstands. Also the tower appears in the track rendering, making me think they will still be trying to build that for the first phase:

    http://circuitoftheamericas.com/tickets

The cheapest "season ticket" looks to be $375, but all the grandstands have the PSL still listed, so I don't know if those will be prices w/o PSLs if they don't sell out. Also, does anyone know if the "season ticket" you would by prior to the first F1 race would also include the V8 supercars first race in '13? Or is this "season ticket" really just for one race in 2012?

And as much as I'd like to snatch up a couple of them, I just don't have faith in the race actually happening. I hope to be prove wrong, and if so, I'll definitely be there in 2013 (will be in NJ also).

Can't argue with that. And it isn't clear to me what the season ticket is. If it included F1 and V8s at that price it would be quite different than if it just was F1. I'd like to fill out the form to get more info, but I really don't want to sit through a PSL sales pitch.

If a season ticket is something other than a ticket to all F1 sessions, I simply have no interest. I cannot, and wouldn't if I could, travel down to Austin everytime a different series comes to town. Nothing other than F1 could get me to shell out a bunch of cash for plane tickets, hotel, food, parking, etc.
