If that's Sunday, then no...looks like great weather too, and I like to keep in touch with the Formula SAE team up there. But really need to get the garage floor done since it's looking to be warm enough to cure on sun...

I'm in NH this weekend and next, hope to be back for next Sunday though.
I spoke to a Lambo and a Pantera owner this week and hope to have them stop in next week. They were both busy this weekend. We'll see.

Pretty sure he's out of town for the next week or so. Not sure he has access. Last info was in his thread. I think its isolated to something between the shifter and the gear box. (good sign)

After a long and surprisingly warm winter, the Gods decided this weekend the mercury was to exceed all expectations and provide a taste of spring weather. Upon hearing the wondrous news and waiting until the last minute for some form of verification (they've lied before) I called the insurance company and re-applied the full Horsey coverage effective at 12:01 am last night.

I climbed out of bed this morning with a little spring in my step for the first time since that awful October snowfall that cut last seasons excitement short. I grabbed a quick shower and quietly slipped into the garage. I pulled up the corner of the car cover to show just a little leg and stepped back for a moment in sheer childish amazement with a startling if not naughty grin on my face. I stepped back in to remove the cover from another fender stopping myself again to savor the moment. Dear Lord this thing is sexy. I continued like a high school virgin on his first date with the prom queen who was saying Yes,Yes, more more. Not capable of continuing the strip tease much longer, I tore the cover from the car to reveal her full, curvacious and magnificent body.

The key was placed in the ignition and the engine was rolled into life for the first time since the last cam belt exercise nearly 1 month ago. It was also the first time in the full glory of sunshine since October. The sites and sounds were enticing me into a frenzy. As she warmed her oils, I gave her a quick wipe with my favorite detail spray and a brand new microfiber cloth purchased just for the moment. I swear she responded with a deep throaty sigh and that special look that sends all lustful men into a sexual coma making them completely oblivious to anything other than her. Lets call that the Mental Erection.

I slid into the drivers seat, fastened my belts like you should with any mind altering experience, depressed the clutch, found first gear and slowly rolled away. We very quietly passed through town and up onto the highway. Her long winter slumber had resulted in some flat spots that needed some heat and time to finally reset. After about a half hour at 65 mph, all the gauges were reading normal, tires were up to temp and rebalanced, everything was reporting to flight control as a go. I found 3rd gear, and promptly let this magnificent machine act like the slutty supermodel she is.

She tied me in a bow and then popped it free to send my senses through an incredible journey like she has every single time we play. Ohh!!! what a feeling!!! Just like every spring, I am again in love. Reborn into the most rewarding and only life worth living over and over again in the hopes that absolutely nothing changes...The Ferrari Life.

I'm left to wonder if my family, friends and co-workers will notice the difference?

That pretty well sums up what its about.

Its a shame I missed taking my red beauty out today as we just got back from a weekend in Boston for my wife's birthday.

Jeanne and I had the 308 out yesterday for a run up to the Vanilla Bean. Perfect day for the GTB, just crack open the windows and let the fresh air in. No need for AC. After lunch at the Bean, continued the run around the northeast corner of the state. Pulled into the my driveway about 150 miles later. Today it was the shore line with the Z4 and top down. Got me thinking about a 355 spider again. Can wait til tomorrow.

So first we have Olin's TR missing and backfiring, then Mike's battery gets loose and, as we might presume at the time, finds a ground path through the shift linkage doing who knows what.

So this afternoon I decide to run out and get some gear oil, i.e. doing the right thing. I'm heading home and pull onto the RT2 on ramp, winding it up nicely through the gears. All of the sudden, the gas pedal goes to the floor and the engine goes to idle RPM. I knew immediately that the throttle cable has either come loose or broken. I said some bad words. (an aside: A guy pulled over to make sure everything's ok, turns out he has a TR6 or 7... I told him to stop by Glasto some Sunday AM. My faith is restored in human kindness, or at least the kindness of fellow enthusiasts.)

    [Warning: purists cover your eyes]

So I put a tie wrap through the slot on the spring loaded throttle control lever, hooked it over the adjustment screw (force was light, so no harm, no foul), set the tie wrap for a little over 3000 RPM and drove the remaining seven miles home. Note: No clutch was harmed during this.

    [/Warning]

It appears that I can bodge, er, effect a temporary repair until I get a new throttle cable, plan is to drill an aluminum rod and drill and tap perpendicularly for set screws so I can temporarily reconnect the end.

    I need a drink.

ps Lane, what a poetic post about your 348! I feel the same way after the long winter.

Glad you guys are enjoying it....Here's what I wrote the fall before last in the Autumn View Farm thread filled with pictures from our season closing banquet of Ferrari friends. Makes a nice "forward" for the above.

Ohh how I long for these days past.

I look outside at the cold dreary day that has become so routine this time of year. My love is nestled under her car cover dreaming of the days to come next season. She is awakened on a schedule to keep her fluids flowing and electronics in order but sincerely prefers the slumber. She is happy to sleep away the beasts of winter.

It is I that must face the indignity each day suffering the unparalleled boredom without the exhaust music, light breeze, and companionship of my true love. I work desperately to find the fortitude and keep a positive attitude whilst the winters cutting chill tries to wrestle away the memory of her bounty.

It will come again at the dawn of the new season just 3.5 short months away. God...please help them to pass efficiently.

Keep these smiles, thoughts, and photographs in your minds eye until again we ride.

Looks like Sunday is a washout. Anyone want to come out and play tomorrow? Thinking about heading over to meet Dan at the Spot in Groton.

    Ha ha ha...
I can't quite put my finger on why, but for some strange reason I believe the former MUCH more than the latter...

A little bit short notice... and I've already planned my other motorsports activity before the rain comes: lawn mowing. Tomorrow does look look like a big rain event, and 2-3 inches tomorrow night. Might have to practice my acrobatic skills at gutter cleaning as well.

Well, seven of us beat the odds yesterday. A few DD's, TR, Porsche, and a Viper. Made it down to GB by 9 AM and back to MA by 11:30 AM without a drop.
Did miss the usual World's problem solving discussions though.....
    See you all next week.
