Regardless it is still sad, 430 miles! :(

Phil Bachman his wife Martha and son PB are a TRUE car family. They have a very significant car collection including many of the last-off-the-line Ferrari production models. The factory welcomes Phil to Maranello often where Ferrari will customize his car order to his specifications. Last year he brought his Superamerica to Celebration. When he opened the hood the signatures of the craftsman that built the car were displayed front and center. Ferrari certainly considers him a TRUE car guy. So do all that know him.

I have seen him on the track in his Enzo and on the road in many other cars. I think if they drove their cars 7 days a week they have so many that they could not get 1000 miles on each! They are as nice and gracious of a family as you could ever want to meet. Phil is a well respected and celebrated Ferraristi. Maybe some day if you met them you might think differently.

    Where is the "adult" section?

I will unsubscribe as it seem's there are delicate....

Here is a shot of the engine compartment. The Enzo that he brought a few years ago also had the signatures in the boot.

Why would you be sad that some Ferrari enthusiast has low miles on his car? I have a friend that put just over 2K miles on his 330gt he bought new in 64. He sold it a couple of years ago. Lovingly cared for would be an understatement.

Tex........no big deal......it's just hard to generalize about an owner when you see a low mile car. And you are probably right - there are quite a few owners that don't drive their cars for fear of mileage gains. I ain't one of those guys as I just got home from Celebration after putting 550 miles on my GTC this weekend. She purred along at 80-90+ speeds on the way home.

Some buy Ferraris to collect, as objets d' art.

Nothing wrong with that; many Ferraris are of timeless beauty and qualify as the best automotive sculpture.

Think Michaelangelo or Renoir, but with a regular belt change required.

I just have a different outlook guys and thanks to those who replied "respectfully' without implying I "stuck my foot in my mouth". My intent was only meant that such a great car should be driven and enjoyed but to each there own.

My foot is always in my mouth, I thought you guys knew that! :D

You have a gorgeous car. Really enjoyed getting to see it. Wish I'd spent more time admiring it.
As for the low milage F40, I was thrilled to see it. I'd want to drive it, but if I had two I guess I could see leaving one as original as possible. The fact that it was brought out to the show was enough for me to know he must be a car guy. The 575 was an awesome car last year. But the F40 was amazing.

I've had my 456M back from the shop for four days. I've put 1,125 miles on it in that time.

I like my Ferrari ownership philosophy better. lol.

    Cheers,

    George

If I close my eyes I can dream that I am in Portofino......'cept unlike in the theme park you can't drive your Ferrari in the real harbor.

With only 430 miles, did they test the air in the tires for origional Mediterranian or that cheap aftermarket North American brand?

The Factory workers that built it, it's usually only done that way on a "special"...the Pope's Enzo....stuff like that.

They are teasing you with the brand of Italian shoes that OJ had on, when he killed Nichole.

"Your waiter will be with you shortly...."
