I live in California. And yes, the movie-car Cannonball Countach looks great! But, LOOKING GOOD wasn't the point.

    The point was:

Tinting the windows on a Countach will not help you keep cool one bit in California or Florida if your A/C is not up to snuff. Additionally, the tinted windows will reduce the admittedly marginal visibility the Countach affords to downright dangerous if the car needs to be driven at night.

Now if you just want to look good, sure, tint the windows by all means.

Tinted windows on the LP400S Black Canonball car looks pretty good, but on a LP400 it just looks wrong, it doesnt matter if its an Black LP400. A big no, no ;)

Tint is ok in my book BUT it does take away the lines of the window frames....which are incredibily unique.
I used to tint my other cars but now I don't mind people seeing my bigass head while driving.

Thank you for the effort and for sharing here Brian.

Your info supports the knowledge that the variants got heavier with time.

Backing up Brian's findings, I weighed my 1986 Countach QV with wing, sports exhaust and with just under 1/2 tank of fuel on board and recorded 1,493kg (3,292lb (US)). The corner weights are a bit strange but the ground wasn't perfectly level, so this would have effected the individual readings but not the total figure.

Yes, and I weighed a LP400 at 2750 # with half tank of fuel. This shows that, as usually is the case, the first effort is usually the lightest.

Wow that is amazingly consistent with Brians weight. There is a place near me that will weigh your car for free i just have to make it over there. I will make sure it has a 1/2 tank when i do it.
Joe: love that picture of the car out on the street in its home country... very nice.
Of course the A/C has to work well in a countach or you cant find comfort in the summer in a countach and very dark tint i also agree could be a hindrance but I'm still going to do a light tint to "help out" in dealing with a Florida summer :)

    Great stuff!!

That is weird with the weights.... especially the front. I would have thought the LF would have weighed more than the RF since the A/C Condenser, 2 small cooling fans, receiver/dryer bottle, horn, etc are all on the LF side of the car.

The QV is quoted with 1510Kg with fuel tank full, the numbers are quite accurate, I tested mine on the grape balance at feruccio's wineyard in italy :)

Not a BRG car. This picture confirms to me that BRG really only looks good on cars with curves. IMO

Sorry Peter, it definitely qualifies as BRG.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_racing_green

BRG is a loosely-defined color, and it depends on if you are speaking of Jaguars or Aston Martins or British Leyland cars etc. It also depends on if you are speaking of vintage cars or contemporary cars. It can be dark or light, and it can be flat or metallic.

Personally, I love Anniversary Countachs in one-off liveries. Heck I even like the Viola/Rosso car!

Hey Mike I believe his car is a right hand drive model.
Look at the photo the windshield wiper is hinged on the right. That should explain the difference between the two sides as the steering wheel, foot pedals and brake master cylinder assembly may add up to more than the AC condenser and other related parts. Or maybe it was just the ground as the original poster said it was uneven. Sincerely Vic

haha, let me re-word. It is not a car that can wear BRG in my opinion, Just doesn't look right....... hence not a BRG car.
Joe, I would never cross you :):):)
