And my son with his favorite ride . . . the FGT. Mods include Ford racing exhaust, bumper delete, Accufab monoblade throttle body, transaxle cooler, pulley/tune by the the GTGuys, short shifter, racing harnesses, full gauge cluster by SpeedHut, etc. Awesome car and the sound . . . unbelievable. I love the pic and the car! My favorite all time. Like the garage set up. 4 different cars from 4 different companies. But all four the fastest, baddest car that companies made! Glad to see your enjoying them. That looks to be tungsten? My favorite color on the GT. Want it with the blue or gray stripes.
Thanks . . . and actually, my FGT is quick silver (2005 color only). Probably looks a little darker as it was sitting in the shade when I snapped the photo. They are all four enjoyable but in their own unique ways. Just need to find room to squeeze in an Enzo! Lee
Cool, wasn't quite sure with the shadows. An Enzo would fit perfectly in that bunch. I like that you have a dd with all kind of electronic aids, and three toys with basically nothing to help. And son that seems to love he cars doesn't hurt. That's were my passion started. Listening to my dads stories.
Unfortunately, Enzo's have appreciated to such a high value, it is challenging to make the investment work and still enjoy the car as a "driver". And my cars are driven--they are not static displays. And you are correct in that the GTR is bristling with all the lastest technologies and the other three, at best, have ABS, old school six speeds and rely heavily on the driver's skills. But because of that, they are each infiinitely satisfying to drive. I, too, developed my passion for cars huddled in the garage with my dad working on classic Chevy's and Ford's. Lee
By the time I was born, dad had moved on to boats( just as exspensive). But stories of his 69 chevelle 396 and Corvair monza spyder he had in Okinawa sparked the flame. Initially liked muscle cars, couldn't afford one so I got into mud trucks. Thought it'd be cheaper...lol. But I've grown to appreciate everything now. I like the old school and new. Guess that's why I appreciate your selection. Plus I really like silver tones. Perfect garage for me would be GT, 550 or 574m, 96-99 viper gts, and a Shelby to drive every day. That way 8,10, and 12cyl, are covered! And kudos for driving them!
Everything needs to be personalized in my view--with the exception of the Carrera GT. It was pretty much perfect from the factory in my view! Lee
Boats are probably the only thing more expensive than cars . . . with the exception maybe of airplanes! My dad had a saying about boats--the two happiest days in a boat owners life: the day he buys it and the the day he sells it. I like your perfect garage--I have 6, 8 and 10 but need 12 to complete the set (that pesky Enzo). Lee
Boats can be expensive. But no more so than an exotic. We use them all the time. One was bought new in 95, on the second motor now. Looks better than most peoples 3yr old boat. Have to take care of it. But it's always kept the family together for weekends and vacations. Plus I put lots of hours on them when he's out of town. Why buy your own when you can borrow two I do a lot of the maint on them though. So we work it out.
Keeping the family together . . . that is the number one priority. And if a boat does it then it is well worth the investment. And your right, my wife tends to remind just how expensive exotics can be--I think it is her negotiating strategy! Lee
Lee, technically you don't have an exotic... Just an import, two muscle cars, and a really nice Porsche! Right? Haha. But it's all relative. Like you said, if the family enjoys it then that's what matters.
They feel pretty exotic to me!! And if the CGT does not qualify then the definition of exotic requires a re-visit . . . rare, expensive, fast, exciting, challenging to drive, bespoke, etc. I have bought and sold my fair share of Lambo's and Ferrari's but I will never part with the CGT or the FGT. Maybe I need a new name for my exotic wannabe's--how about quixotic?? At the end of the day, I would rather be on the track in a race car, preferably open wheel. The photo is from some time I spent at Ascari in southern Spain--intense. I will try your logic on my wife as it may reduce expectations at birthdays and anniversaries . . . One of my garage. Again, my phone taking pics so quality is low but still makes me happy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lee, the CGT for sure, and the GT are exotics... Just trying to help explain to be wide the need for an Enzo! Open wheel would be awesome. By far one of the funnest cars I've ridden in is a aerial atom sc. Amazing car
Agree with you on both counts . . . and I will keep the search on for that special Enzo. The Atom is a great car . . . and Radicals are also one of my favorites. The Brits produce some great track toys. Lee
One last shot from my garage with all my babies tucked away safely . . . thank goodness the CGT and FGT are very low profile so I did not have to modify my garage door (though I have plenty of ceiling height). Both lifts are Backyard Buddies and I have been very pleased with the performance. Have the CGT out with the tops off . . . it is a good day! Lee Image Unavailable, Please Login
