Let's put the politics aside, I know none of us really like it but it looks like it's going to happen.

Quite possibly the most boring track since the Las Vegas GP circuit in the Caesar's palace parking lot lol.

Anyway, Mercedes engine course again. Much warmer track temps so I expect Mclaren to grease the field here as I just don't have confidence in Mercedes not killing the tires here so I expect nothing more than perhaps a chance at a podium here. Lotus will do well here as they were underheating their tires in China.

    qualifying:
    Schumacher
    Hamilton
    Button
    Raikonnen
Rosberg (going to kill his tires in this heat)
    Kobayashi
    Grosjean
    Webber
    Vettel
    Perez

    race:
    Hamilton
    Schumacher
    Button

I think my head's in the same wishful place, but realistically, I only think Michael has an opportunity to place where you predicted....sad.

For some reason I think the threat of violence by the opposition will result in the race being cancelled, even at this late date.

I don't see that being true. The more I look into this, the more I hear this is an angry group of college-age kids while the rest of the country is operating as business as usual.

Just read a couple articles from European journos who went there already and they report that while the political situation is tense, the government (for better or worse) has it totally under control.

The race will happen and I'm sure the TV cameras will be edited as not to show any protesters.

    Realistic choice and mine.

Interesting one, I'd say more wishful thinking for 2 and 3 but certainly possible.

No doubt! But we can dream, right.....

Having said that, the track should suit the Mercs & Kimi seems confident that the Fauxtus is gonna go well.

    Cheers,
    Ian
PS; "Fauxtus" - Blame Isobel - As usual! ;)

    Depends.
    Rain likely?
    :)

All I'll say is that the winner will be sitting in front of an MB motor.

    Rain? - in Bahrain?

Lets look into this a bit closer:

Definition of Bah: an expression of contempt or disgust

Definition of rain: Water condensed from atmospheric vapor and falling in drops

Er-go: The countries very name implies that rain is held in such contempt and scorned upon that they would never entertain such a possibility!

(Having said that now, watch it pour down for the whole weekend! :p )

Chances are they will. Also now we're finally getting into more normal timezones: The lights go out in Bahrain when the Sun just rises over the horizon.

MS had so much bad luck this season, I think he'll finish this time. Question is more how far back?

I guess it all depends on whether Ross was able to widen the sweet spot on his Titleist. ;)

When I lived in Bahrain we use to run a book on the number of car accidents reported in the papers the next day .. coz the roads would get slipperier than black ice & just slowing down for traffic lights can turn into dodgem cars. An F1 would have no hope in the rain there.
