You know what I thought I read some where a long time ago the Veyron's tires only lasted 2 k miles but I said NO WAY, I read that wrong. 2,500 miles is just ridiculous!!!!!

Even if you're the Sultan & could have your staff take the car in for you and all, its would still be annoying for someone who actually loves to drive.

Not really. The Enzo was built in an era of Ferrari domination!

 

The FF-camo doesn't mean a thing. The Enzo used F355 camo, the cars look nothing alike. People thought the Enzo would look like the F50. In fact nobody knew why Ferrari was testing a bigger F355 at the time.

Anyone drawing right now or making assuptions based on camo are totally in the dark as to what the car will actually look like.

 

There is speculation that the Enzo replacement will bring back a more prominent rear spoiler.

 

Maybe something like in the 599xx evo??

horsepower is proportional to the product: torque * rpm.

I do agree, that the torque of an engine (naturally aspirated, without forced induction or nitrous) is a strong function of displacement (and a weak function of just about everything else).

But ... what about that rpm component to horsepower? How fast will this new motor spin? i bet this is where we'll see a big clue, to big power

and then, there's that little kers help to get over 900hp ...

 

If the V12 is around 7.3L thats only like 124hp per ltr ferrari could do that in there sleep, tho I think Ferrari will only shoot for around 850

 

If these numbers are to believed you only have 920bhp on boost. You will be able to boost for say 10 second giving 920bhp and then back to 800bhp as
The system must recharge so really it a rechargable eco friend nitro system almost. To me in a Road legal supercar its point less you already have the power to over take anything on the road.

it doesn't appear to have a wheelbase longer than the 458....it could be this mule is a systems mule, rather than a body mule (meaning it has no resemblance to the final cars bodywork)....the large tail housing could be to hide the various KERS equipment (which would be packaged differently in the final car)....IMO of course

I think you are correct, but there are elements of the body from the new car under here. Previously the new car was running components under the body of a 458 Muletta, this car with the Hatch on the back has the V12.

 

I saw pictures of it in late december so that mule has been running around for a couple months. Why is this becoming a big deal again?

I think this is a different car than the one seen earlier.

 

I'm not sure. It looks very similar except the camo on the engine looks less messy. This updated mule also doesn't have the air intake over the roof. I guess we haven't seen it for a couple months due to Ferrari analyzing data they gather earlier this year and then improving the engine and KERs system. I'm simply guessing and I have no idea what Ferrari is up to.

I haven't heard anything about that mule or any mules since early January and was wondering why it became a big deal again. I guess since C&D released a new article, people are talking about it again.
I'm excited to see the final product either way.

On the topic of KERs, everyone is saying that it's useless on the road, but what about low speeds? I bet you could drive on KERs with little engine input for a distance at low speeds. Not sure how far or how the system will work. I'm interested to see how Ferrari will use this in a road car and how useful it will be.

IMO, the CGIs that have been released recently look good. I wonder how accurate those are.

 

All very good conclusions, can't wait as the countdown to this car gets a bit closer. I bet we will see more this summer on the Prototypes running around. Remember how well they kept the 458 quiet for so long and they were testing it under a 430 body shell, until the Czech photos of the Crash Tested Blue 458 hit the Internet.

 

Your calculation is for 900bhp....with a 25% drivetrain parasitic loss....the actual horsepower of the motor would have to be 1,200 HP at the flywheel....or about 100HP per cylinder....PLEASE tell me what current Ferrari motor that is naturally aspirated has 100 HP per cylinder that Ferrari has as you stated it....."could do that in their sleep"???!!!!.....Mark
