Ladies and gentlemen. I've been asked to participate in a racing event at CMP on May 7th. The production company is looking for additional Porsches, Ferraris and Lambos for this Speed TV event. A shoot out between American muscle and fine European sportscars. PM me and I can email you more information.

Wow, what an overwhelming response. There is a substantial amount of money involved for the winner.

Hey Karl, wasn't your last thread titled "This region is so dead"?

Perhaps everybody is concerned about "trading paint" with a bunch of Mustangs and
    Camaros.

Maybe timed laps would work better than an actual race.

karl, can lotus play? I met the perfect couple this weekend, he drives the 355 but I don't think will track, but she, a made for TV blond and his wife has a Lotus that would be perfect and I think she will track or perhaps both will if given some encouragement.

What are they considering a muscle car? Are we talking 'vette's and vipers (which are sports cars) or actual muscle cars like (new) camaro/mustang/challenger or (old) gto/chevelle/charger? If they let in american sports cars, the zr1/z06 vette and CSR Viper will be top dogs unless you can line up superleggera gallardos, 458's, 599 HGTE's or similar. I'd throw my hat in with my 355 as I've driven the CMP short course before, but it won't be much competition against the z vette's etc.

To bad us poor folk's couldn't play....I am sure they wouldn't be interested in an S2000 but I bet it would hold up pretty well against some of the American's.

You should be able to play! :) There's only so much horsepower you can put to the ground in the twisties. Don't get me wrong more is better in general, but IMHO in tight corners your suspension geometry and skill matter more than 500 horsepower and a solid axle.

Sorry I just re-read my post and it came across I little like I was complaining and gripping, I really wasn't, just kidding.

I think many that haven't driven a S2000 would be surprised at it's capabilities. Obviously, it can't keep up with a lot of the hardware here but for the relatively small cost it is a great bang for the buck vehicle.

It does sound like they are looking for some more exotic rides though.

And I apologise if my post came off odd as well. Its tough to gauge tone on these boards. Oh no.. the S2000 is very competitive. Properly prepared its great on the track. I'll bet you'd have some fun!

I think they want the "Look at the Old guys in their American muscle beating the pants off the younger drivers in their expensive european cars" schtick, and they can edit it any way they want. I'll leave it to Karl to ensure otherwise. I don't have his skill on the track.

    for import drivers also! http://www.carolinamotorsportspark.com/getonspeedchannel.html

Let's see if they want a Caddy in the mix.

I did fudge a little bit though - I sent in a picture of Stewie in his little red race suit next to the 69 P-car.

Well, my replacement turbo for my car (which I haven't driven in over 3 mths) has not yet been built. WTF? A lot of work to be done if and when it does show up. I'd hate to take the old X5 to this thing. It would make for a good show but no chance to win.

I did get a call from SPEED (thanks, Karl) and need to send a video as part of my application. Will try to get that done in a day or two and will post up the video if I am accepted by SPEED.
