Got my email today. Sounds like the latest installment of "My Ride Rules":

Hi,

At this stage of casting, we need for you to submit a short 2-3 minute video answering the questions below on camera (youtube/vimeo link, or emailable .mov file is fine). NEED ASAP



This video will determine if you move forward in the casting process. We’ll need this sometime this week!



The more OUTRAGEOUS you are the better. We’re looking for bold, ****-talking redneck drivers to kick some import butt.



- What's your name, where do you live and what do you do for a living?

- Why do you think American made muscle cars are better than imports?

- Have you ever raced against an import? Did they win and do you want revenge?

- What do you think about these Import drivers? (let the smack-talking out)

- What does your car have that makes you think you can outrun an import? (Here’s where you can brag about what you got)

See... this is what I spected' I can see one way it might get interesting (following may be offensive..) ;-)

"I'm Bambi. I dance but not in a ballet sort of way. I live with my fiancee up in McClellanville. We have some dogs, pitbulls. I like dogs."

"Everyone knows that american cars are better than imports. You mean like Hondas and Chryslers? They're both imported from Detroit right? I saw it on TV. I think they're better because they are. My torn denim shorts.. see here (points to self). They're bought in Walmart. Walmart is american, that's why it's better."

"I'm not racist at all! I don't discriminte neither. I would never get mad at someone and want revenge. I like all kinds of people."

Well, if I do get picked I'll post up the details. I wouldn't think there would be any admission charged but who knows? They might not let the public in for "confidentiality" reasons, but again- who knows?

 

I think this is the event my son is going to with his Mazdaspeed turbo Miata. Should be fun no matter what.

 

Carolina Motor Sports Park has all next week blocked for a private event, so I get the feeling they are filming various segments, possibly all related to "Are You Faster Than A Redneck".

 

What? No Old Fart division?!!!!! That lets me out.

Well, I am "in" for this event- for better or for worse! Signed my life away with about thirty pages of disclaimers, waivers, etc. I am told not to expect any huge royalty checks from SPEED...

The production company says it is a closed set, as they want to keep the results a surprise.

Sounds to me like a rigged show made to appeal to rednecks.. you have a real up hill fight in your hands.. they may cut your brake lines while you sleeep you know!

Saw this No.27 heading south on 77 right out of Charlotte the other day. Could have
been headed to CMP. It reminded me of another No.27. Could this be something that
Fantango's been working on for CMP this weekend?
