Friday lunch.......April 20th in N. Dallas area

The lunch discussion today got me thinking that it has been some time since we all got together for lunch.

I know a great burger place right near my office in Dallas called Molankis. Small hole in the wall place that is a well kept secret. They probably only have seats for 25-30 people at best.

It is located at 18110 Midway Rd on the SE corner of Frankford and Midway.

We would need to meet around 11 or 1 depending on size of group so there are enough seats.

I guarantee you won't leave hungry.

Reply back here if you want to meet up and I will call and let them know to reserve room for a group.

Well damn. I was thinking this morning that we never do things like we used to, cart racing, monthly lunches, happy hour. Ah, the good old days.

I can't do 11:00 or 1:00 sadly, have a call until noon then have to be back for a meeting at 2:00. Not sure I could do all that driving and still get here.

I'm game for next time though.

 

Yes, I would like to do this too - but cannot make it this Friday.

What if we made it next Friday, the 27th?

Hmm. I might make it after all. I even thought about driving the Ferrari tomorrow just for fun.

I'll try to make it, sans F-car (in the shop).

 

I know the world revolves around Dallas, but if you guys could make these a little more accessable to the west siders it would make life easier. Da googles says, 60 miles one way, so that's a fer piece a drivin' just for a good burger. Irving, or thereabouts would be more betterer.

That will also give you Dallasians(Dallasites?) a bit more chance to drive. I might make it, but since it takes a full three hours to do, maybe not.....

Meh, let 'em have their North Dallas lunch. we could always find another location more centralized.

 

Yeah, got me. If you like plastic boobs, liberals and a billion soccer moms in Escalades, then Dallas > Ft Worth. Go for it.

 

Swear to God, in 1973 I heard Elvis open a concert at Tarrant County Convention Center with: "I heard today that Fort Worth is where the West begins, and Dallas is where the East begins to peter out. Anybody know if that's true?" The roar of the crowd was earth-shattering (yours truly doing my part).

As is always the case, he who makes the plans picks the place. Since Señor JP decided to develop this gathering of like minded individuals, he chose a place just down the road from his place of daily time wasting.

Irving works better for me too, cuz that's my place of daily time wasting. Maybe I'll plan lunch next time. Maybe a place with lots of plastic boobs.

 

There used to be plenty of Westside lunches. Highly publicized and promoted, and lightly attended. No real surprise it's gone by the wayside.

There's a monthly breakfast on the Westside. If you haven't attended, you should. Watch the forum for threads.

For anyone who complains about what's planned: organize something! It's pretty damned easy to sit on the bleachers and ***** at the players . . .


And I wish I could attend this, but I'm still building slack room at the new job. Maybe next time.
