Yes it's the Edmond Ciclet's home, a very nice place for Lamborghini cars and Lamborghini fans.

 

Yes the outside lights are low beams and the insides are high beams.
However I believe the bulbs are reversed as the inboard headlights on Roys car are the low beam style, I cannot tell on the outboards as they are illuminated.
Hence the high beam bulbs may be in the low beam spot, see the attachment below.
I am not trying to stir the pot I would just like to know for sure as mine are as shown in the link below. Vic

Those are not the same headlight bulbs as the ones in Roys car.
As far as RB switching them around, I know for a fact that he didn't as they were one of the few things that still worked properly.

Funny they made the video at that location... probably because the Countach is belonging to one of Edmond's customers...

I knew this french magazine article but I didn't know (and look for) this video.

 

OK, back to the headlights below is a shot of Roy's car.
Then a shot of mine, followed by one that I found on the internet.
As you can see the bulbs are distinctively different as the left one is a high beam and the right is a standard bulb with a black umbrella diffuser shading the actual bulb.
Roy's lot boy is going to hate me.

The car started in Euro as Euro design...then came to the USA..it is obvious it had changes made for DOT, such as the rear side and front markers added (that I deleted and put back to Euro)...SO..is it possible a DOT requirment also made the swap of the position of the headlights..??

 

I doubt it as most side by side quad headlight have the low beam on the outside and high beam on the inside. One thing you will have to do is put the right high beam on the inside left side of the car and vice a versa on the other side as the headlight buckets are doweled. Sincerely Vic

 

I'm not seeing where or why the DOT required swapping the lamps in that period.

But, I can see this type of mistake coming from the factory itself. Anything is possible.

 

I have a TRUE 1988.5 Countach in Black with around 25k miles coming on the market in the next week or so... Ill post pictures as soon as I take some.

 

In that time period, DOT required sealed beam headlights for the US market while the European market had more powerful non sealed beams (i.e. you can change the bulb without changing the entire headlight). So the headlights should have been changed just like the side markers to make the car legal in the US. The US government was worried about moisture getting in the headlights causing them to fog up and or damage the silvering. It is the same reason they banned covered headlights as found on the E-type.

haha. I have seen a ton of 1988 cars advertised as 1988.5 if they have the side skirts installed. 1988.5 cars are unique as they have the digital anniversary style air conditioning controls.

Very few 1988.5 cars were made... Joe could probably fill in the gaps... : )

The cars we refer to as "1988.5" cars were in fact built in late 1987, and the first half of 1988. Annivesario production took over from there. During the production of these side-skirted cars, they were all built this way - the notion put forth to me in recent times that one such car was not, is wrong. Yes, you are right, these cars had the digital climate control, as did the Annivesario. You will also notice that they had the slotted window vents as you can see at the top of the second pic.

I decided to follow Harry Medcalfes' ( UK EVO editor) advice and put upgraded pads in my QV
I put in the E4303 420 10 Pagid Blue pads at the front. They are fine but not a game changer although still to use them on a circuit.
I bought the E4304 for the rear but my mechanic says they are the wrong pads.

Need to contact Pagid about them.

Anyone put these on the rears and know what the correct part number is?

I know the changes for 88.5's, they just don't seem to be too rare in the States. It might just be my small circle of friends though. Would nice to see some educated numbers put up for them... I have seen a few cars with the same added skirts (unfortunately) that were Not 88.5 cars but not many. Marios was a recent one:

Anyone know the total number of CT's made in RHD?

Was it only UK/Japan/Australia/New Zealand which were the official RHD markets?

Total to UK about 180-190??
