No clue, some kind of sensor fault, I think it's going to require the replacement of the sensor and that's $$$$$$$$.
Sometimes you can successfully remap it yourself. Pull off the lens, put on the body cap. You want it as dark as possible to avoid light leaks. Then run the manual sensor cleaning. In theory, the camera will remap around that hot pixel. Worth a shot before sending it in.
Don't you buy an insurance when you buy a new camera? When I bought mine in 2010 I got 5 year full coverage on both camera and lenses. So I even get my camera cleaned for free by Canon if that is what I want.
I did try that, but I think the damage goes way beyond a hot pixel. That one spot alone is probably 10 or more pixels, plus the entire line.
Nice view Matt. It's an awesome state when you have choices for a coastline. The gulf side is by far the better in my opinion. Unless you surf.
Anybody ever get stung by one? I sprayed this guy and a big black wasp with carb cleaner, both at the same time. The black one died immediately and so did the red. Or so I thought... I put it in a Ziploc for later viewing and the next day it's walking around like nothing ever happened. Here's a picture I found that shows how long the stinger is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hilights360/2753265672/ More pics later... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is a cool picture my sister took, of her dog on her deck - having a look at a little visitor. Surprised the mouse even had the nerve to come anywhere near that dog... Image Unavailable, Please Login

Guess I need to look at photo threads more - couldn't live without the full sensor? Something else with your Nikon you couldn't live with? Point me to the thread and I'll read up on what you thought of it.
The gist of it is that I really missed some of the lenses Canon had. Trying to find comparable lenses for Nikon was sometimes 2x as much. I was happy with the D7000, but it just always felt like a toy compared to the 5D. And once I saw prices really dropping on the 5D2 I knew I had to sell my Nikon and get one.
Sounds good. Can't wait to see some pics when you get everything together. My D70 is plugging along! I'll upgrade one of these days. One my wife took at VIR last month. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, it's going to be awhile though until I have the setup I want. That said my plan this summer is going to be to start shooting people. I've had a decent camera and made decent images for 6 or 7 years now and I have yet to ever shoot a single person. Working on getting a studio setup in my garage and doing a workshop next month with a couple models. As much as I love shooting cars I'm starting to run out of material and it's getting kind of stale. Plus I think I have a better chance at making some money in portraits and model shoots than I do with automotive.
Probably a good move. I have a good friend in Richmond who focuses on corporate work to pay the bills and he shoots other things when he can. Another Canon guy!
