ISO 800, F/4, 30 seconds. Put it on timer and run all night. That's a stackup of about 675 exposures, plus one of early dawn for a little blue color in the sky, plus a morning shot of the mountain foreground that I toned down a bunch to blend in.

There is still a lot of work to do on the set to remove satellites, airplanes, one or two frames have lens flare from a car coming down a nearby street... I'm not looking forward to digging through all the frames to find these things.

If you don't need the power then by all means. I hope my math is right, but the strobe I just picked up on full is equivalent to 360,000 watts of continuous power, which isn't going to happen with continuous.

    http://www.google.com/search?q=overpower+the+sun&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=5GGVT7CFKIGC2AXDntzsBA&biw=1600&bih=799&sei=5mGVT97jKIPG2wWZqcCcBQ

Amazing stuff, and you will absolutely need the power when doing it. I guess it just depends on what you want/need out of the lights.

Do you need an intervalometer? I still need to buy a tripod.

How do you edit them all together?

Sorry for the noob questions!

I used one, though you might be able to use a locking release and let the camera continually run. Also, I ran off an AC supply instead of battery. The battery would probably make it though, and if not it would make it far enough for some very long trails anyway.

I downloaded some free star stacking program. "Startrails" I think.

    Thanks, Dave!

I believe there is a program you can download and have a 'built-in' intervalometer.

I'll have to look it up. EDIT: Found it: Magic Lantern - http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/Magic_Lantern_Firmware_Wiki

Hopefully, you were able to capture your anguish in a carefully crafted self portrait.

Oh, you were smiling your ass off when you opened the box? Well, there's an opportunity lost. ;)

I don't think I'm going to keep the grip, not a huge fan, anyone need one, I'll let it go cheap?

A quick snap from this afternoon. Weather was crappy today, it always seems to rain when new gear comes, hopefully tomorrow will be nicer.

I've been on Fchat for a few years, mainly in the Hong Kong forum, but didn't know this thread existed until now. Thought I might share a few of my car snaps with you. All of these taken here in Hong Kong. Enjoy!

Oh, I don't care about the moisture, just the horribly nasty dark grey skies. Luckily it looks like its going to be pretty clear today.

Can work to your advantage. Dark skies within camera DR are better than bright clouds that blow out, IMO, and can make for some nice diffuse light.

Good color. Rainy/misty are some of my favorite natural light conditions.

Ugh, it's always something. I have my background mounted on my garage wall, I got my beauty dish today to go on my new strobe that came today, except the guy who sold it to me sent the wrong sync cord. Earliest I can actually use the thing will be monday.
