    Good day All,

Just documenting these cars, as they come up...

A carbed car no less... how rare is that?

It sure shows well in Silver!

    Cheers,

    Sam

Just a few words to thank you for the nice job you do by posting every ebay cars you can find. I try to follow and to register but I ever have too much work with european cars and everythings I can do for the European Ferrari Club 400.

We have been contacted a few days ago by a magazine redaction (european, can't tell more for the moment) who has asked us to check the production numbers they have found for all models. I realize that real differences exist between sources (Cavallino Magazine, Ferrari Guide by Serge Bellu, Ferrari de route by A. Prunet...)

About 400 Automatic I can tell you 354 or 355 including 137 RHD cars.

I have just begun to ask for american past issues about our favourite cars..I've got a nice answer from Forza Magazine which has helped me to order 5 nice issues.
I ve contacted Prancing Horse and Cavallino Magazine but no answer at the moment.

In Forza Magazine n°66 (Decemer 2005) you can read a full article about a 400 Automatic #24221. We have recently talked about this car here in F-Chat because It was in Ebay in bad conditions. I was quite surprised to find it in Forza, in 2005 she was in very very very good conditions and maintained cost regardless, in the hands of somebody called Jay Jacobs.

With very kind regards, and please continue your fullinteresting job !

Love that black and red interior!

As Paul said, keep up the good work documenting these cars.

    Good day Paul and Aidan,

Thanks for the kudos! Most appreciated! However, I am not all that virtuous, as I am doing it for my own purposes too ;) ( I am looking /watching for a 365... carbs with a 5 speed is what I am after) ...

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Good day Gregg,

You taunt me :) ... Indeed I need more luck (and probably more $$$) for my search!... although sometimes the search is fun, as you "meet" a lot of interesting people/cars along the way.

Perhaps at some point you will create a YouTube video of your car with the engine running so we can all hear those wonderful carbs ... ah che bella macchina!

    Cheers,

    Sam

I like that car. I think the GT's are the sleepers of the clan.

it's a nice looking example of a fantastic car...and a ridiculously cheap way into V-12 Ferrari ownership.

you simply won't find a road going Ferrari that makes a more beauiful sound and you can't judge it's beauty, or lack thereof, sitting stationary...in motion they are stunning.

    Re your comments

    You are spot on

I own in australia an in bastardised original 400gt

    They are magnificent

I have a number of exotic cars including a 550 barchetta, and owned a number of other Great cars from time to time and the 400 gt on the road or track is such a magnificent car

No wonder Enzo enjoyed it as his favorite ever road car

Sam can I add my appreciation for your good work on the documentation of the cars and on your search for a 365. On this particular 400auto by the looks of the photos and history it would be a hell of a good starting point at that price!
    Regards
    Alastair

    Good day Alastair,

You are most welcome! Indeed, my 365 search continues... sadly, not too aggressively, as I have been swamped with a number of other items which has significantly reduced my spare time... alas...

    Cheers,

    Sam
