BTW, love the yellow Fiat 500 above yours! If you are around the Fairfax area, maybe we can get together and share Mondial stories. Cheers!

I think I already put a picture of mine in the other thread so here goes.

You will notice that for service I use an additional enclosure within my "enclosure" Keeps things extra sanitary.

thanks Mike, nice looking Mondi. I could use that wheel on the wall for the 500...do you have three more :).

We are in the Fairfax area, I sent you a message.

Thanks Lino. The 500 is a blast! I would prefer to put the Ferrari on top to avoid all of the start cycles on the Mondial in order to get the 500 out. Unfortunately, I can't close the garage door with a normal car on top. The Fiat being only about eight feet long isn't a problem...but I have a solution...new garage door coming next week. I look at it like this...If I can do the timing-belt myself, the cost including the lift and door will be equal to taking it to a pro..after that, money in the bank...unless I screw it up, which is a distinct possibility...I think that's why they invented flat-bed trucks.

I like your reasoning. I use it all the time and it also pays for new tools as you need them.

I like your idea. I am thinking of buying a lift. Is someone going to show you how to do the belts? I once rebuilt a straight Chrysler six an messed up the timing but it was not one of those critical engines where valves get bent. I just had to turn the distributor almost 180 degrees to get it to start. I still wonder what I did wrong, it was high school in shop class in 1985 and I always knew I would have an F car.

Lots of threads here and in the 348 section. Also have a friend who did his 308. But first, I will do the belt in our Subaru.

Shoot... even if I just do fluid changes the lift could pay for itself in three or four years.

Well I hope you let me know how it goes when you start.

By the way what did the lift cost if you don't mind me asking and did you self install?

    Hey Lino,
It's a 115volt Greg Smith lift that was around $2,000 delivered. But then I bought the sliding jack which was another $500+. We had it sent to a friend of a friend's loading dock but there is also a tricky method of unloading it at home with the truck's lift gate. It took two of us about half a day to assemble it.

Thanks Dave. I will have to look into that. I have seen them here but what is the sliding jack?

    Hello Lino,

Not to speak for Dave but I was just looking at these for my garage as well. That a sweet setup Dave you got there. Hope to see you Sunday at the Fair Lakes Meet.

I hope to start this project this year. Its going to look exactly like the red building, thanks for sharing, it gave me another idea.

Mine will be three doors like this and then i'm going to add two more sections with the same layout to rent out. An 'auto condo for rent' type set up. Ive own this land (100x300) near our airport for a few years and have been kicking round the design layout ever since closing on it. i could buy more cars and keep it a secret from the wife :)~ shhh

i just need to find a cheap builder

I have order many lift from Greg Smith for my friend (5 or 6) in the last couple years and always had great service and fast delivery. I still don't have my own. I will get it this summer to park the 308 and the Mondial.
Lino if you want one there is also http://www.carlift.ca/carlift_king.php here in Canada. But last time I checked it was cheaper with Greg Smith even with all the fee.

How about a Man Cave with a bar and beer on tap! Now we're talking TED!
That will be sweet for sure.

There is a sweet home not too far from where I am that is on the market, was 1.5 mil now 1.1 mil, has 7 garages with in ground pool & pond on 26 acres of rolling hills in beautiful Virginia!
My wife and I are drooling over it!!! The American Dream alright!

Well i have a bit of that here at my factory, the back section is where my cars and other rides are and i just put in two lifts (BendPak, 3k with jacks) to accommodate and to service. I'm restoring a 1969 C10, but i like being home more than here so my 'man cave' is a lonely place. I tend to run home before my 7pm dinner bell rings.

It would be great to have that set-up next to the house as this guy did. Maybe when we move over the mountain that can happen for me but for now.. just storage.

And sadly, i don't have many car friends,, mine would rather be in a golf club house bar or ball park suite

Yea, that is a nice set up. Thats the best way to have a car hobby and a few like minded friends. although, not good for our small kids who want to ride to their friends house. looking for that happy medium.

    Beautiful. and Virginia really is.
