About 12366, i think i have posted a pic of that car before. But here is 2 pics, notice the back and front bumpers! Yet another verson of bumbers. I have no dog in this (TOPIC) but the picture below is from my best friends fathers car, which is suposed to be an 88.5. I have been in this car many times and it did not have the new AC. Uforatnutley the car was sold last year. I can ask him if he still has the VIN. 36948_102971063087906_100001250380996_18437_4498779_n 88.5.jpg Image Unavailable, Please Login
There was a car that looked danged similar to 1060 that was on eBay through Canada, a little over a year ago, IIRC. I had info pulled on it, but switched computers, and may have lost it. I think the car could have been in Alberta? It had been repainted white (which I believe was original), big mirrors, bravos.... I was wondering what ever happened to it.
on the early QV's were the brake pads identical on front and back? Seem to be although Pagid disagree? Could strip and fit but just wanting to confirm we are not wrong? Thanks Paul
I am a brake pad mfg and we show 85-90 front and rear where 2 diffrent pad shapes. The Countach - Anniversary Edition where the same front and back.
Quite interesting ! the front looks like an anniv front. Are you sure this is original? Do you guys have special regulation in Sweden for this? Cool picts.
dont think so. The side lights are euros. no one typically goes thru the pain of doing the side light on late cars from the US.
Fair point, though many have done odd, painful things that others cannot understand. Not saying you are not correct, still just a "hmmm" in my mind.
I really dont know about the originality of this car, i took the pics in i belive -96 and i havent seen the car since that. I belive its displayed in a Museum in Sweden. But about the bumper issue, if i remeber correctly i think there was an discusion long time ago about that even European cars were delivered with thoose US back bumpers. Agreed about the front bumper, it looks strange, i dont think ive seen that one on another car. My guess is that this is an European car, with European front bumper, this car has then had an accident and then this, i belive glassfibre bumper was attached.
If this was Stephan and his Fathers Countach (which they did buy at Cleveland Motorsports about a month after I got my car), it is a 1988. Pre-Digital temp control. I think I have the VIN someplace.... I'll dig through my e-mails.... Mike
Jalpa Mike, you are correct I just got off the phone with my friend that owns Cleveland motor cars and it's an early 88 with FI 1 of 26 or 27 car made with the side moldings. His father went to the factory to have that car built in 87 or so. He is looking for the the VIN. I appologise about the 88.5 remark. I am a F Car guy but always read lambo threads due to when I was growing up and my friends father had this car and my dad always had Testarossas. If I get the VIN I will post, he did say the new owner is a member here.
No need to apologize on stuff like these. The fact that someone take the time to post info to help the community and that can be researched is all what it is about.. I think I got that car somewhere in my files at home. You would brake the holy grale of 88.5 if yoou find one that was out of the factory with the old AC!
Very interesting car. Its worth noting that the factory prepared some DD QV with Eu sides (no side-markers) , USA partial front (shaved-down bumper) and USA partial rear (rear panel but no block bumpers) for the Middle East.
Another Light Yellow Metallic Middle East delivered car. Who can explain the QV badging, yet LP500S engine cover? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I apologize for the extremely off-topic post but I thought the enthusiasts on this forum would get a kick out of this. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PtLpK25BDw[/ame]
I suppose any number of possibilities - Is the QV bumper a bolt on to the 2V car? I have always liked that updated look since I was a kid. What is the story Joe?
Ok, i did remember correct about that some Euro/Middle East-cars had US-bumpers. So it might be an shaved-down front bumper on the car i posted, but it would be interesting to see some front end pics of the Middle East cars.
