I have a 87 328 GTB, and would love to upgrade the 16" wheels to 17"--8 and 9 inch widths. My previous 308 carb car luckily came with 17" Speedline 5-star wheels. I believe the best look for these cars is a 17" wheel. Or at least a wider 16"er.. So, why the heck are there so few suppliers providing wheels for these legendary cars? I found a UK company--forgot the name, found here in another thread-that will make the 5-star F40-style wheel for around $500 each, but to ship to the US is $750!!! I know for some here $2750 is no big deal, but I'd love a better value if possible. I'd love to consider a MOMO or OZ wheel for my car, but there seems to be ZERO options from the major brands. Doe anybody have any info contrary to what I'm saying here? I hope so! Greg
I would think if you went to the major wheel mfg. and looked at their wheels with the same bolt circle and maybe the center bore there would be a good size selection. I see the problem is the offset. That would cause you to use wheel spacers/adapters. Other then those options you would have to pay top dollar for speedline or OEM wheels.
The 308/328 bolt pattern is 5 x 108, right? Can anybody provide the 328's offset info here? My car is a 1987 pre-ABS car. Ferrari may have changed the offset in mid-88 when they went to ABS and the wheels changed, not sure.. Thanks, Greg

How do you know that 17"s are the best size for the 328? Have you seen the car with proper 18"s? I put the 355 Challenge wheels on my 328 GTB. They are 18" wheels and they are perfect for the car. I had 17" wheels before, 3pc Speedline wheels (do a search and you will see pics of them) and the 18" Challenge wheels seem better all the way around. As long as you don't go with narrow spokes (like 360 wheels) the 18"s seem to be the right size on the cars. For a pre ABS car, the wheel offsets are: Front -7 inch - 15.15 Rear - 8 inch - 15.45 You would need spacers if you use the 355 wheels but it really is no problem. Look at Tillman's set up. He used the stock 355 wheels and they look perfect. I took all kinds of measurements and did calculations on an offset calculator over and over and in the end, it all worked out exactly. I always prefer to use actual Ferrari wheels over something else. Remember that you will need to use all fronts, as the rears for the other wheels are 10"s. Don't sweat it as the 8"s are great if you put 245 width tires on them. I think that you should start by looking at standard 355 fronts. They are relatively plentiful and the tire selection on 18" wheels is great. I got better tires in 18" for less than I would have had to pay for inferior 16" tires. Same story with 17".
Sherpa, I just prefer the look of 17"s on the 308/328. I had 17" Speedlines on my 308, and I thought the look was terrific. I know you have the gold 355 Challenge 18" wheels on your car, and I would consider those if I could locate a set priced reasonably. I'd like to go 8" front, 9" rear, but apparently the Challenge wheels come 8/10"? The 10" width will rub in the rear? Where would I purchase wheel spacers? Would they require longer lug bolts? I just bought a bunch from Superformance UK, stock length, would hate to not be able to use them... Are there any OZ wheels that would fit a 328? I see that they make some for the 355. Greg
Greg, No doubt on a 308 the 17"s look better. The car has too many 70's styling cues for something like a challenge wheel, imo. On a 328 though, I think the 18" looks right. I would go 18" on a. 348 as well and keep them on a 355 instead of going to 19". For spacers go to Hill Engineering and Ricambi America. No idea what you would need on the older style suspension. I would have to do the calculations. That said, if you had to go with something with only a little offset like the concave wheels, 17" might be better than 18". Hard to tell without seeing.

Greg, to make the challenge wheels work on a pre ABS 328, you would need 30mm spacers on the front and 45mm on the rear. I don't know but that seems like a lot to me. Nonetheless, I know that HE and Ricambi have solutions for that. Remember to also calculate the change in tire size as well because if not, you can have the right offset calculation but get rub because of wider tires.
Yes, the 355 wheels will fit on a concave 328. If you want to do it on the cheap, Volvo wheels fit. Find a set of Volvo Polaris wheels or their replica versions, Eikers. Cheap n the Ferrari world...but cost more than a lot of Volvo enthusiasts rides. Volvo 240s and 740s have a 20-25mm offset; with the correct 5x108mm lug pattern I've always wanted a set of 308 wheels for my 1979 242 16-valve Turbo
