Emilio, that gold one was presented in 83' Car Magazine and it had that dent on the lower right side!
Thanks Joe It's good to see the other cars registered either side of mine, there were 4 or so cars with the F92- OYR registration F920 to F924, mine is F922, I think that the Acapulco Blue RHD QV had one of these reg numbers as well originally. It is useful to know the situation with the AC etc as these UK cars were some of the latter QV's made but they were obviously just the same as the earlier QV's but with factory side strakes added, as it wasn't worth the hassle to do the other bits.
Some interesting RHD cars - thanks for posting Joe - unfortunately the Pearl white/mint green car was tragically destroyed in an accident in 1998. The Pearl white/white car I believe is now in Melbourne.
Missed this... Frankly, the factory did not seem any better in 88 than it was in the early 80s on that type of thing.... so they sold 88.5 car at 88.5 price with minus options???? Really suck
Being an Anglophile and a Countachphile, the combination of the two is more than I can handle! Thank you so so much for these great pics!
I have a pic somewhere the day they were all delivered at the same time at Portmans on George Street with Mike Perry playing with them with a big smile on his face!
A friend of mine ordered a brand new RHD Annivesario. He asked why couldn't he have had the later dashboard vents etc. "Impossible" was the answer.
Emilio, this is the same car that was Gold. LC3929 pointed out the chassis number above. Hope you are well my friend.
You are welcome. With this thread fast-approaching a million views gotta keep the standard high, right? This pair of images are my favorite "before & after" pair. The brake dust in the second image speaks for itself! The owner is in the khaki pants on the left in the 2nd image. The car was gold, then dark blue in the 80s & 90s, and now he has painted it yellow. He still has it. Probably has 150,000 + on the clock. hi, tks you for this did not know was the same car sure it looked like an S3 i am fine and hope the same for you
Strange, more breakdust on the back rims than on the front rims. Btw Joe, thanks for posting all theese pics.
Hi Joe yes the white and pearl white is still in scotland and with its long term owner. He was the second owner, i believe. The first owner I met in bristol a few years back who owned 7 countachs, as far as I recall. Don't ask me his name, as I am awful for names. I spoke to above current owner about the 88.5 cars. Portmans had 16 rhd. !4 were kept in the UK and the other 2 exported. He recalls at that time that Portmans had the word wide franchise for RHD cars. Not sure how long they had that for. Harry has written and article about putting power steering on the QV and published it in this months octane. Interesting reading. I had posted a question a few pages back with no clear response! Sob. Are the brake pads on the QV identical front and back? Pagid don't think so. They look the same but hopefully someone knows? lol Paul
The owner let me sit in his Countach one time at Castle Combe. It was still gold at the time but saw it at another event after it had been resprayed in dark blue with the gold badges. I must admit, it looked stunning in the dark blue. Surprised there's no photos of the pink Countach that appeared at some of those track days. Really enjoyed the events I went to and it's a pity they don't have them any more.
There was a Pink/blue Countach and a Peach/brown Countach, both LP500S. I have some images of those somewhere too.
