Well that's unfortunate luck if I've ever heard of any! Bummer indeed! Hope you get your CS in tip-top shape before the Challenge. Looking forward to meeting you down there! :)

Don't worry about bringing "other" cars. ;). There looks like there are going to be as many as 20 cars meeting us that Saturday morning. Porsches, MB, Bimmer's, Mini's and of course F-cars. It's going to be a fun trip! I can't wait for a little track time!

In the past they have always offered special parking for anyone driving a Ferrari in, is that not the case any more? Not buying a VIP pass for Infineon this year, since I have one for Laguna. If no special parking, I will just drive something else up.

    Thanks,

    Gary

Ferrari corral parking is for VIP ticket holders only, from what I understand.

There are lots of tickets being given away but keep in mind these are general admission tix and do not afford you access to the VIP food tent or Ferrari corral

I think there is a mandatory drivers meeting at 8:15, so 7:30 may not be early enough. Not sure if it applies to touring group though. This is for Friday.

I was under the impression that the drivers' meetings listed on the schedule were for Challenge and Corse Clienti drivers...

That may be right. The schedule I have is a list and doesn't explain anything. Usually there is some orientation before any track session but maybe because it's just touring it's minimal. I just didn't want anyone to be disappointed just in case.

Not that I'm at all averse to getting there very early, but last year's first Saturday touring session didn't have a pre-session driver's meeting or anything.

I got my CS back today, with a new set of Michelin PS2 while it was in the shop! All it needs is some gas and it's ready for Saturday!

    Orrie,

I was told by Emmanuel at Fof SF that the tech inspection at Infineon (for those that did not attend the tech inspection that was held last Sunday at FofSF) is at 10am. I was told that any car that would be in Touring or Sport would have to get inspected at this time if you want to get on the track. So likely, best to plan to get to Infineon before 10am. Better double check, cuz it would bite if you drove all the way from Sac and couldn't get on the track.

Doesn't the touring session start at 9:30am?

Latest is that if you want to get on the track Saturday (touring or sports), you need to be there for the drivers meeting at 8:30a. There is a touring session at 9:30a and another at 3:25p. The on-site tech inspection is for those who missed the one last week (like I did), so for me, that means I probably can't get into the first touring session.

If you drive a Ferrari in they'll wave you into the corral. You'll just miss the $125 lunch.

So do we need to go earlier to make it to the 8:30am drivers meeting? I don't think I can stay until the afternoon session.

Thanks for the info, Ponch! So, given that we should probably be at Infineon no later than 8:15 (allowing us time to get our VIP passes at Will Call and situated in the corral/inspection area), working backward, where does that leave us as far as Roseville departure time? I'll be waiting in West Sac shortly thereafter, ready to go, but just want to get my timetable set up right...

If they follow the rules they outlined last Sunday, you need three things to get on the track: 1. wrist band, 2. sticker on helmet, 3. sticker on car. No passengers (no instructors or coaches) in sport session. Passengers must have a wrist band...need to just sign the waiver. Passengers do not have to attend the driver's meeting.

I heard there was a change in the schedule. The drivers meeting is at 830 am if you want to get on the track. I imagine they will have another one before the sport session. So don't worry if you get there late. I am sure you can get in the later sport and touring sessions. BTW, those of you coming over the GGB expect gridlock esp headed home because of the Doyle drive closure. You might want to take the Bay bridge back home.

    FYI!

Yes the touring goes out at 9:30, drivers meeting is at 8:30. If your car is not tech'ed them come early to get that done.
