Hi fellow 308 drivers. I own since summer of 1988 a nero/crema 1985 308 GTS QV. As I put away money for it for years, I certainly did not want to have it as a garage queen. I drive it quite regularly (but not from November to mid of April) and use it on nearly all long distance journeys. I even have been to the North Cape in Norway, which is from my hometown close to Munich (Germany) a roundtrip of 5,600 miles. The total mileage today is 150,000 miles, and I would like to know, if there are other 308 owners, who managed a similar high mileage WITHOUT an engine overhaul.

Mine has roughly 100,000 miles now, slowly approaching overhaul time, as she's growing an appetite for oil (not too bad yet though)

Lots of QV owners here with some good mileage on their engines. The nikasil liners allow them to go for quite a long time.

Can you post any pictures from that trip? You might have the record for the furthest north anyone has taken a Ferrari. I'll bet it's beautiful up there.

91K miles on my '83qv without a anything major going wrong with the engine or trans.
She's in the shop now for her first ever engine pull to have the trans drive shaft re-shimmed and hoses replaced (while your in there).

But she has had new leather & carpets, new bushings & shocks all around, and several small rusts spots and nose resprays over our 10+ years.

She runs dino and doesn't burn any oil between the 3K oil changes.

Rolled over 150,000 on my 84 QV this week end. Smokes a little (oil smoke) on a cold start otherwise runs OK.

Good for you and your automobile! My '85 has 79K miles and runs like a Rolex; compression is 150-155 all around, no smoke, no drips. Everything works nicely. "High mileage" is relative. 79K miles is over 26 years....3K a year. For you 6K/yr. Just enough to keep the juices flowing and arteries from hardening!

I have only paper photos of that trip, but I will see if I can scan them and load them up.

It's really good to read that I am not the only one who uses his Ferrari kind of regularly. In four weeks I will drive with my 308 QV to the Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance at lake Como in Italy, certainly only as a visitor.

    Pictures? Yes, please!

... well, it is as far north you can take a car :) BTW: there are some Ferraris in Northern Norway and I would guess several have been driven to the North Cape...
