    Paul,

I spoke with a chap down south called Tony who had a white countach in his garage or something like that getting restored possibly???. Its the one that sat in a Maybole driveway for years looking rather sad. had wooden wedges under the tyres etc. ive got his number if you need it but you will probably know of it :)

    Hi Mathew

    How is life?
I synced my phone with our upgraded office computers and lost about 200 numbers!! Grrrr
    Send me yours again please?
Would be good to know more about that car. Certainly heard about it from numerous people for years but don't recall seeing it.
If the guy wants any advice or to chat o a fellow sufferer please pass on my number.
    Mine still the same 07831467360.

    Regards

    Paul

Now THAT would be worth seeing!!!!!!!!

If you can dig it out and post it, I can do the same and find some of my photos from when I went to Portman Lamborghini in George Street in London more than once a month and took hundreds of photos. Also lots from their service centre in Ealing and when they moved to Thorpe for a while next to Maranellos. Those were the days!

Checked with Carlo owner of Pearl and white ROD reg car. He did buy it when 3 months old and was second owner. His recollection was 3 pearl ones in UK, one of which crashed in France. Thinks the other may have been exported.

I will dig out some old photos of silverstone in the 93/94 meets and scan them although have no image allowance left here

    Paul

I rode in the Countach for the first time, and didn't really notice what James May was complaining about. No smell of petrol, wasn't deafening loud, wasn't hot (I was still wearing my coat), and the clutch wasn't really heavy.

That is right after Paddock Bend (@ Goodwood) so he would be a full open throttle at the point of that image :)

Awesome sight!! That blue one looks like the one James May drove, though I doubt it is the same one.

Same colour but the one James May drove was a 400 and that car has now gone to Norway/Finland.The owner bought a Diablo SV instead and has since been looking for a Countach as he doesnt like the Diablo as much.

Longshot, but wondering if anyone can shed some light on this photo...
It accompanied a French magazine article regarding a (1981?) running of the Cannonball Run. The article mentions that some of the movie cars were there & although not participating in the race, would be filmed. Countach in the photo is missing the front wing of the movie car, so it must be a different car. Also, the last "official" race was in '79...mostly curious as to whether some cars ran in some fashion in 1981 & the Lamborghinis that may have been included. This article describes running it in the Vector W2 with Jerry Wiegert ...

Two Miuras, an Espada and a Countach... that's a pretty heavy Lamborghini turnout for a late 70's Cannonball Baker Memorial methinks...

Kinda what I was thinking. The text doesn't seem to match all the photos...however, even if the photo was randomly used it'd be interesting to know what's going on here
