Dino 05216 is a Euro 246 GTS in pretty nice shape. It scored 94 at Cavallino in 2011 garnering a gold. I plan on fixing and adding a few details to make it more complete for the next shot at Cavallino in 2013.

One item that is missing is the plate and locking bar that secure the 3 levers [trunk, engine and fuel lid]. These appeared only on the GTS versions securing the levers from tampering
while the top is off. I have tried the "usual" suspects to see if there was a chance one was out there somewhere. No luck.

Is it practical to fabricate one of these plates and bars? Or is it so complicated that I should just forgetta-bout it? It costs at least 1/2 pt [maybe more] in the judging. If I do everything else I need to do the car should still score over 95. But if it's practical I will try to have this mechanism reproduced.

Anyone out there that has one out of the car? If I had good pictures and the dimensions it would give me a head start on having one made. TIA

One just went by on Ebay NOS for a little over $100 which I think is very cheap. Keys didn't look correct to me but a good deal anyway. Check the completed items for pictures.

I agree. There are some silly numbers out there for pieces. It's not limited to Dinos. Vintage Ferraris seem to have high costs for parts. Especially NOS pieces not being reproduced. I am searching out a couple of more leads that I received on this bar. Hopefully not as expensive as the one from Italy.......

I am looking at reproducing a few parts that I cannot source from elsewhere so if anyone has a pattern to copy or at least some close up photos and measurements then I will look into it. Just as an example of my work I am doing a step by step build of a new Dino 246 GT chassis on my facebook page at the moment http://www.facebook.com/classic.and.sports.cars.unlimited

If there are any other parts that need reproducing please get in touch.
