Been chasing this mondial , POST # 175 for some time to find out more about the wheels..they seem to be a center lock setup. I love these wheels, anyone know whats up? Where its at etc? Sure would be nice to know.
Hi James, They appear to be Speedline Mistrals, 18" or more. The photo doesn't clearly show the edge of the cover cap but I suspect it is there. Hey, I could be wrong, but - I don't think so. In the photo of Rachel, you're looking at 17" Mistrals, 8" and 9", and you can clearly see the cover cap. I hunted for years, to find mine, glad I never gave up !! They're out there - good luck. i just begun my own hunt for the elusive speedline mistrals, but the ones pictured aren't it, close though but no cigar...if you look closer you'll notice the spokes are longer, there is no cap and the indentations on top of each spoke is rectangular instead of cilyndrical like the mistrals. I don't think I'll ever find them, I know the car is from austria, tgey "appear" to be the center lock style like the testarrossa's but just can't seem to find any info on them. On a side note...I personnally will settle for a set of speedline mistrals si if you know anyone selling please let me know.
Ahhhh - James, Yes, the spokes are longer - but I believe that is because the wheels are 18" diameter or even greater. I'll still stand by my position that the wheels are Mistrals (with a five bolt pattern). The cost to make that kind of a hub change is up there - - but hey, what do I know? If those are hub lock wheels - - - hmmmmmmmm Wouldn't it be cool if the owner of that beautiful Mondial, would chime in here and give us the low down on those wheels? Cheers, Hank
Hi Chris, It is definately a German owned car,... or so it seems from the license plate. Very nice Mondial indeed.....almost looks like a dark "skinned" twin sister of Rachel
This Mondial is licensed in my french departement (77). Do you know where this pic (with the Dino) was taken ?
For what I've read when I originally found the photo, it was at a car show in Austria but no guarantees its from there.
Posted elsewhere, but this is what Mondials were made for originally, yes? On our way to black tie benefit... Image Unavailable, Please Login
So I say to my bride "You'd love a 912 and look great in it!" Response: "I look great in the Mondial and I don't want an old Porsche." Consarnit. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yo - Faber, You'll search high and low trying to find anyone who is in disagreement with her. What a doll - - the first pic reminds me of a scene in a very popular movie Cheers, Hank
Just for fun ..... The award for the best supporting car during Hank's grandson's 3rd birthday party is - - "pfwwww" (Johnny Carson opening an envelope), Rachel, the Mondial T Valeo car !!! Cheers & onward !! Hank Image Unavailable, Please Login
