Ran across this 1992 on Ebay. Seller's description says it's the actual car used in the James Bond movie "Die Another Day". Sounds like it needs some TLC and a clutch. Looks to be in decent shape in the pics though.

Seller says that he would have sold it for $32K and that was his reserve. Currently at $43,400. Could be a good deal if someone has the resources to complete the work needed. I thought maybe someone here might be interested.

Cool! I may yet get a chance at that white 355 when you have to sell it to fix the Diablo... ;)

It seems like a very good price, just the fact that he doesn't have a title yet scares me a little.

What does a clutch job run on a diablo?

Will Texas title a Euro spec Diablo so easily?

near the end of movie it is ejected from the rear of a C130 (probably not really).

but it is then shown vertically into the rice field (water upto rear of front wheel arches) - not a way to treat a car!, as Bond flies overhead in the helicopter that he pushes out of the C130.

Ebay requires a valid VIN for anything newer than 1991...perhaps the non-US VIN isn't recognized by the software. Using an older model year circumvents that filter.

Hopefully that's all it is :)

...........................it seems from the links and responses that it is indeed the Diablo that got tossed out of the plane into the swamps .thats just crazy .

    ............................................... (what's up with that)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure they didn't drop that one from an airplane.

Well you can`t believe everything you read , but in the responses there is a guy who said he worked on the filming of the movie, + indeed thats what they did , unless i read it wrong or misunderstood , but it also says it was dismantled and rebuilt here, but i personally do not know what happened .

Nothing worse, than buying a bargain Lamborghini.

60K purchase, and it needs thousands in work. After the work is done, it is still a bottom of the barrel 91/92 Diablo !!

The 'bargain,' is the $100K 91/92 Diablo, that needs nothing :).

I do not know if this car (ebay car), is in the country illegally ? I know of a red 91/92 Diablo, that was located in or around E. Texas, that is not supposed to be on the road. It was brought into the USA, in parts. The car I am speaking about, needed a lot of work. It is NO bargain !

It was an Antonov, not a C130; and the car that was actually pushed out of the plane was probably a replica.

ebay's system doesn't like euro VINs at all. All of the auctions for grey market cars that were brought over legitimately in the 80s (at least all of the ones i have seen) have a spurious VIN entered into the vehicle info section and the actual VIN in the description.

Some harsh words in here....yes it is what it is, but somewhere there is a new excited owner needing a welcome to Lamborghini ownership. Maybe the car will spend time at a shop getting a complete restore, or maybe the owner is hands on will be hoping for some friendly advice. Imo dragging the car through the mud due to its current condition is a bit much.
Is it known if the new owner is a private owner, dealer or collector?
Hopefully there are updates with the status of the title.

    Someone got burned.

Another 15K, would have been well spent.

At 75K, you can find a good driver.

With either direction, the owner will be upside down.

The car is not street legal.

As a James Bond movie prop, it might not be that bad of a buy if you collect that sort of thing and have a nice way to display it. To buy as a car, totally agree.

That's crazy that a car that the owner would have sold for in the $30s sold for in the $60s and it wasn't at a live auction where adrenaline and booze sometimes win.

Ultimately........it worked out VERY nice for the seller. Luck was definitely working for him. One of the benefits of an auction I guess, whether it be a live or an online one! The "power" of Ebay! :)
