I am looking for a recommendation for touching up the black trim pieces on a 89 t. I have small chips in the black trim pieces around the windows. The chips are small and only noticeable upon close inspection, but I would like to fix them. thx in advance for any tips.

I'm sure any black paint would do... even house paint. or even a sharpie

I have tried hand brushing my front glass trim with some Satin black finish.
It restores faded trim. Depending how bad it is, you can tape it up and respray it or get a small can/bottle and fill in the chips with a little brush. Let dry and wipe and blend with a bit paint thinner or alcohol wipes.

example in spray can, but you can pick up a small $5 can from a hardware store, i.e. Lowes, HmDepot

In addition to chips, the black trim paint/anodizing on some Mondials begins to discolor with age, some very subtly, where you know something looks ratty but you can't tell what it is.. While it may sound silly and over the top (which as Hank says, the way I did everything with the little car), a few years ago I had all of my trim prepped and resprayed - not only the glass trim but the black trim beneath the door, spoiler, the works. It makes a bigger visual impact than you think, and it was a couple hundred bucks. Really sharpens up everything.
    Anyway, just a data point.

If electrical doesn't do it for you, Duck Tape comes in black ;)!

But whatever you do, don't worry about it until you get your car back!!! ...ETA?

You're in good company. My car is a mess and on stands waiting for parts at the moment.
But I hope to have everything delivered by the weekend and I'll have it all back in as good as new. Hopefully not much longer and I'll be at the C&C events again.
The weather is in the 80s this week! Anyways, keep the faith Ted!

    All the best,
    Mike

Thanks. The chips are really small and probably only noticeable to me, but sometimes I need a little bonding project with my car. Thanks for the tip.

You still don't have your car back??? Not to put salt in your wounds, but it must be torture waiting this process out. Hopefully, it will be resolved soon! :)

Can you believe it. When I finally get it, I'm sure it's going to be like the day it rolled out of Maranello.
