Sound to prompt upshift? Or some haunting noise...

    I have a 2010 458. When I am driving along at around 3500-5000rpm at a steady pace the car seems to make some noise every few seconds. The noise kind of sounds like a little "vroom" sound and could be coming from the audio speakers. If a shift up a gear the noise stops. I can't figure out what the noise is or where it comes from exactly. Perhaps it is designed in the car to tell the driver they need to shift up?

    Anyone else ever hear this noise or heard of this.... or maybe I'm just crazy?

    Vibrations from the gearbox, maybe ? Go ask the dealer/mechanic.

    It's not normal.Something to do with the F1 system?
    Call dealer service.
