Dope. Should have stopped immediately and checked the damage.
This is exactly why this thread is such a great resource and gives so much back to enthusiasts & owners alike. Love it..
Paul, that was not minor damage. There are pics of the car post-incident, and can tell you it wasn't pretty. Same car in better days... Image Unavailable, Please Login
why are they trying to race up that stupid thin and crappy road anyway? I wouldn't drive my daily driver up there let alone my countach.... my dirt bike maybe. Looks like a damn stupid idea imo
Ken It's the Hill climb at the Brooklands circuit, which is what is left of the old oval banked circuit in South West of London. Been there a couple of times. LIke you I wondered why people wanted to race up there. I have been to a few other hill climbs and they tend to be much the same. The last stretch of Goodwood used for the FOS, is also quite tight, but the public arent allowed up that far. I think hill climbs are fine for small light narrow cars, but not the CT! Suspect the driver just wanted some fun in front of a big crowd. They used to do a sprint start race as well on an open section almost like an airstrip, but again, do you want to dump your clutch at 4000prm? I don't! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6bujIl3dAc[/ame] I have never been to Florida. Suspect our roads may be narrower and twistier than yours? lol Paul
As I said, just stupid. I would have gotten out, checked for suspension and steering damage before I shot up the road, broke loose and killed a few folks! I think his pride was hit and was too "cool" to get out in front of everyone. Whit that said, he's proabaly a good guy and a member!
That's it he is going to hell! His plate ever say's it, 666 RU going to catch hell for this, Yep. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow that is some pretty bad damage. I cannot believe he hit the side, yes it narrow, but not that bad. I wonder if it was just due to the hard accel or what.
Uphill under acceleration a rear weight biased car I am thinking his steering feedback was not exactly optimal.
Well you are driving on a real road, which looks great, but the yellow car was trying to shoot up what looks to be the bike path by my house LOL. You're roads are more narrow but we do have some pretty good twisty two lane roads not far from me and your video reminds me of them. Have you ever posted pictures of your car? I also agree with you Vic... i would have never accepted THAT plate and put it on my car.
Hi Ken I have posted quite a few photos of my car on this forum and a few videos taken by others: These were taken by the grandson of someone i know why is car daft! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry1Yjw57dT4[/ame] Out with a Supersports SS. Again a very fast car, [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqbRVa8RgZA&list=UURyVb8Xr2hO2UDGO4INRlDA&index=66&feature=plcp[/ame] Hope these are fun for you guys Paul
Still cant believe i missed this run as was sunbathing on the beach in Malaysia. I miss my car so much Paul but I will return to the dark side sometime soon(ish). The videos are awesome, this is what its all about!!! Hope all is well and need to catch up soon!!
The Brooklands test hill was built in 1909. It is 352 feet long and divided into three sections, starting with a gradient of 1 in 8, then 1 in 5 and the top third has a gradient of 1 in 4. It was used by manufacturers to test both the ability of cars to climb steep hills and also of their brakes to stop them coming down. http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/index.php?/explore/test-hill/
Countach folks, Looking for a Countach spare wheel ? => http://www.ebay.com/itm/251053776391?item=251053776391&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:L:LCA:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr

Here is an old picture (mid 90's) of a black on black Countach. I took the picture back when I lived in Puerto Rico. There are quite a few exotics hiding on the island (more than most people would think) I don't know who this car belonged to, but I had seen it a few times around the island. I heard many stories about the owner's son driving it while dad was away, but that's all. Sorry for the poor photo, that's the only one I have of it. If anyone has any info on this car I would love to know about it! Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login
that car is the twin of my car. I wonder if Jeff Leblond in the Phoenix area had a black Countach mostly dismantled for years with Puerto Rico Plates. Hmmmm.
