I notice there is some kind of wag/kwak short burst sound coming from engine area when the car is off and sitting in the garage. The car has been sitting in garage for three days and I still hear that wag/kwak sound coming from engine area randomly, maybe every 1-3 minutes or somethings longer. Sounds like some kind of swtich turning on and off, and it seems to drain my battery.

For experimentation, I suppose I would try removing the gas cap, and see if the noise goes away. If not, I would try disconnecting the battery, and see if the noise goes away. That wouldn't fix it, but it might help to narrow down your search.

Does your car have an alarm system?

    "Wag/kwak" - that's a new one!

    No alarm in my car.
Battery drain is measured at 0.02 to 0.03 amps.
Sounds seems go away when battery is disconnected.

Any way you can record a video of this?

Probably the elusive dog-tailed duck. They've been known to stow away in warm places.

    Two wild guesses:

    1. Anyone think it might be the fuel pump? I know when I turn the key (key on, but engine not yet cranking), I get a whine from underneath. Pretty sure it's the fuel pump.

    2. How about the diverter flap that kicks in only when the engine is cold. You know the one that makes the exhaust growl for a few minutes? I have no idea how that's actuated, but if it's electrical, it could be a place to check.
