Too much 458 DNA in the design. Of course, this is just one designers study and not the actual design. I hope the Enzo replacement will be more unique than this.
I wish it would look like that! You should change the road cars nose to that one. OMG It's beautiful!!!!
As stated in an earlier post or maybe another thread it is more than likely just a 458 but to test out the kers system along with the v12 engine, a la Enzo 1 mule built on 348/355 extended to house the larger engine.
Autoweek claims. 2.5 0-60 Possible 255 MPH VMAX KERS works on Front wheels as per 918 May not be CF tub. 2500 LBS No Wing wanted by Luca Not necessarily true but what Autoweek claims...
Felisa has already gone official stating that it will have a CF tub. Autoweek should find a hobby or something. The performance stats seem right though.
If you look at the stats of the Enzo when first launched and where the Ferrari road cars were in terms of performance, and project forward from where we are now with F12/458 I think it's logical to expect Veyron levels of performance. The new Enzo is expected to be 1200kg (Felisa quoted as saying), which is significantly less than the Veyron but with similar horse power. So I would expect sub 2.5sec 0-60 (thats probably close to tyre traction limits - dont think the F1 cars do much better than that) and 400km/h top speed (surely they will want to top the Veyron) with a Fiorano lap time around 5-7 secs less than current road cars - so less than 1:18. It's a once in 10 year event - it needs to be an engineering exercise which can stand the test of time.
I agree that they'll try to raise the bar. Interesting that the 918, new Macca F1 and the new Enzo will all have KERS. To me this will be a very interesting service issue. These systems are very complex and making them work day in day out in rain, sleet and snow isn't a minor accomplishment. I also think the release dates of all of them are going to push back a touch or more. 120 instant HP and Torque of KERS plus 800 gas HP. I wonder how many of these Supercars will be totalled very quickly? It's very interesting to see how fast our drivers can catch a car. In our recent night test under max engine and KERS coming out of a turn we had a tire fail. (Too soft a compound and too much camber for ambient temperature which is what testing is for) Our driver caught the car in .04 of a second. I hope before PUSHING it the drivers of these new hypercars will remember what their skill level is and isn't...
Unless HP builds the tubs for them that won't be happening. In other news some rumors peg the price at 1.3MM (Euro).
I didn't post out of respect to the member who I was quoting. I didn't want to start a possible post war or risk the member being bothered on where he came across this information.
Thank you, I appreciate that. After a number of PMs from different users, I can tell you I don't want to tell anyone where I got my information from, nor do I want to risk losing my source for the information. What I can say is that these "two versions" are separated by the options selected, not they that are truly two separate cars. How different these options make the two "different" versions remains to be seen. As I said Ferrari is really catering to their clientele with this car, much more than they have in the past. The clientele want real options and Ferrari knows that real money is made with options, so in that sense its WIN-WIN. 1.3 euro is the BASE. My information may not be 100%, it depends on how open Ferrari is being with the people I know that are getting the car.
