I know this is a longshot, but would anybody happen to know the make/model of jeep used by the KPA in the funeral of Kim Jong-il? I'm curious to know if they are old Soviet jeeps, or if the North Koreans produced them in the modern day.

    Pictures:

(first shows a farther away, but clearer picture of two of them, the second shows a closer picture but is more pixelated as it is in North Korean HD)

Don't know about the Jeeps but that's one heck of a roof rack on the Conti.

After looking at pictures of a few of those, you appear to be right. Thanks for the info.

Then again, it could be a knockoff. North Koreans sure love to make knockoffs of Mercs. Look up the Kaengsaeng 88, a knockoff of the W124 E-Class.

They are Gelandewagens. On a slightly related note, I found it absolutely hilarious that Kim Jong Il spent his entire life hating the United States and he was carried to his final resting place on the roof of a Lincoln Continental.

lol, you aren't the only one who thinks that. :D

The same thing also happened to Kim Il-sung. The same Lincolns used in Kim Jong-il's funeral were used in his as well.

The first and last cars are Bugattis (I don't know what models, though), the orange sedan is a 78-83 Chevy Malibu, the red roadsters are MG TCs or TDs, and the white 60s sports car is a Datsun Fairlady, and the car nex
T to it is a Ford Model A.

Thank you. I know some of the Bugattis are Type 35/37. Hopefully someone can chime in with specifics.

Thank you. Yesterday & in Wellesley. The rest can be seen here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/stefandume/

I thought some of them looked familiar.
I miss that VSCCA event every year.
With luck I can catch them at Equinox.
    Thanks again.

pic #2 is a riley [most likely an imp] with an mg in the foreground...bugs include 35-37 and a brecia...perhaps a t40 in there as well.

Thank you very much, this all seems correct. I believe the the Bugatti with the 'tent' roof is a Type 30, can anyone verify? Also need help with the ones pictured in this post. The red BMW I'm unaware of which model, the tan one next to it is an ARCA? The #2 Bugatti, is that also a Type 37?

I've spent way too much time trying to figure this one out so I'm going to pass it on to Fchat. What is Jean Dujardin sitting it?!
